So to recap: Vietnamese writer comes to the U.S. and writes a novel about how evil the U.S. exploited poor innocent Vietnam. He’s awarded the Pulitzer Prize (in the U.S.) becomes a best seller (in the U.S.) and gets a deal with Netflix (a U.S. company.) Meanwhile his book isn’t even available in poor, innocent, victimized Vietnam? Viet Thanh Nguyen must have cried all the way to the (U.S.-based) bank.
