  • Great podcast

I'm a big fan of Ryan10 and V*ger. The McQuarrie book is good too. I'm not a big fan of "Did you ever noticed this, did you ever notices that" type of humor but this is great prop collecting podcast. The random screaming of "HOW DARE YOU!!!" can be triggering but give it a listen if you are a collector.

  • Fun and interesting stuff

Really enjoying this podcast. Probably found it through Dave M. Comic art collection. I collect comic art. Even though I don’t collect movie props, it’s interesting and informative. I have to rewatch a bunch of movies that they discuss. But I will start looking at movie props also. Hope Stanley Kubrick props aren’t too expensive. Love the comments on the state of the studios and political shenanigans.

  • i'll never look at a lightsaber the same again

i had no idea that so much work and thought went into prop collecting, and this podcast talks about the variety of auctions and acquisitions and especially validation of props from the perspective of two people who are both buyers and sellers with from what i can tell fascinating collections that include objects that anyone can identify from films like the original star wars and indiana jones. while i am unlikely to ever buy a very expensive prop myself, ive learned that you can get smaller prop... more

  • Dave pressured me

Wherever this fits in, I’m leaving a review of approval for how much I enjoy The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of! Dave & Ryan are great, unless Dave is interrupting Ryan. I don’t know what else to say, I’ll just leave it at that I don’t know what else to say.

  • Cracking movie podcast

Whilst bidding is out of my budget I have to say this is such a fun and entertaining listen. To hear so many of my favourite movies being talked about is such a blast. Ryan and David always bring laughs, great stories and knowledge to the show along with some excellent guests and deep dives along the way. I now watch my 4Ks in a different light. So stop thinking about Prometheus props and get listening!

David Zucker of Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker
Q: What was the thinking behind Airplane!'s spoof approach and how did you determine what to keep or cut during previews?
They previewed extensively, trimmed scenes aggressively, and kept only the essential setup to deliver the punchline; this process helped them refine timing and ensure the jokes landed with the audience.
The Felix Comic Art Podcast Crossover - Part II
Q: Felix, what has been your approach to representing artists now that the market values are high and prices are elevated?
Felix describes a disciplined, relationship-driven approach that emphasizes authentic connections with artists and a focus on the long-term value and narrative around the pieces he reps, rather than short-term flips.
Hello, Newman - It's Mail Time!
Q: What strategies do you use to verify authenticity and avoid fakes in auctions?
Rely on provenance, compare against known authentic items, verify with credible experts (e.g., auction houses, specialists), and publicly share concerns to warn the community, while avoiding rash judgments without solid evidence.
Hello, Newman - It's Mail Time!
Q: How do you approach buyer's remorse after winning a large piece?
Most of the time there is no remorse; the value is in the long-term satisfaction and the market's volatility, but the key is having a plan, sticking to a high bid ceiling, and recognizing that some wins are worth more than their price due to personal significance.
Hello, Newman - It's Mail Time!
Q: What is your take on the value of pre-bidding in auctions?
Pre-bidding can deter spillover bidding and create a false sense of certainty, but in practice it often does not stop serious bidders; live bidding introduces uncertainty and drama that can drive higher final prices.
