Episode 103 - Space Frames, Cable Nets, and ETFE Systems
Q: What are the common misconceptions people have about ETFE?
People often think ETFE is prone to tears or lacks durability, but spills rarely propagate, and modern ETFE is flame retardant and durable for up to 50 years.
Episode 103 - Space Frames, Cable Nets, and ETFE Systems
Q: What makes ETFE attractive from a structural and architectural perspective?
ETFE is lightweight, UV resistant, and allows for long spans, making it an ideal material for modern architectural design.
Episode 103 - Space Frames, Cable Nets, and ETFE Systems
Q: Can you describe a cable net structure?
Cable nets are essentially nets of cables utilized to carry loads out of plane, with a structure that is pre-stressed to allow for efficient load distribution and less deflection.
Episode 103 - Space Frames, Cable Nets, and ETFE Systems
Q: How would you define a space frame?
A space frame is a lattice truss work, where members carry loads primarily in tension and compression, allowing for efficient and lightweight structures.
Episode 90 - Engagement and Equity SE3
Q: How are you measuring engagement?
