Donald Trump is in a bind: there's very little appetite in Washington for boots on the ground but will that be the only way to unblock the Strait of Hormuz?

Love your podcast but today (3/25/26) you mentioned Tucker Carlson as a possible president as a bit laughable. Please read and listen to what he says about the Jewish people and how he sees them in America (not to mention the world). Not much difference between his rhetoric and Hitler’s. People laughed at Hitler when HE wanted to rule Germany. Carlson in 2028 with his millions of followers would be extraordinarily dangerous. Please look into how his presidency would be vis a vis hatred, pogroms... more
Excellent companion podcast to the Times’s UK-themed pod of the same name. Gerard Baker seems to inspire astonishing anger in Times readers but I always enjoy his take. And Katy Balls is increasingly assured in her new Washington post. Recommended!
Came for some interesting talking points on US politics from an often insightful news publication, got force fed hard right ideology by Gerard Baker, not to mention his internalised misogyny.
Honestly quite nauseating having to ensure that level of partially - I’ll not be coming back.
By far the poorest of all Times podcasts. Katy Balls is to some extent impartial but Gerry Baker is clearly having a hard time accepting that there are clearly issues of considerable concern as the Trump presidency continues. Please please get someone else who can present events in a more impartial manner.
As earlier reviews mention this show lacks nuance I would have expected from Times reporting. Claiming Melania is a much more engaged fist lady this time around, saying the Kennedy centre voted for the name change without mentioning who the board consists of, a lack of understanding why one might not want to visit the US due to it not being safe for POCs despite not confronting law enforcement directly…needs polishing.
