Despite the fact that the presenters are passionate fans of Premier League clubs that I loathe (sorry Musa and Ryan), they present a very balanced and insightful look at all the teams they cover. They obviously watch a lot of football games, as they provide excellent commentary on leagues across Europe and around the world, with discussions of history, tactics and politics based in a deep knowledge and love of the sport. Absolutely love listening to Musa and Ryan. They both obviously have a knowledge and wisdom about the game, and their chemistry and humor really stand out. Perhaps most importantly, they don’t just show a willingness to talk about the intersections of politics and sports, they do so with the nuance and empathy we so desperately need from sports media. The cultural references every episode are gems. Anyone who can seamlessly integrate Wu-Tang Clan to describe a football moment is 👌🏾. Musa and Ryan are absolute quality. Been listening for a while, these guys are first on the team sheet.
Stadio is the most refreshing football podcast to listen to, and an excellent release from the unrelenting eurocentric material, sometimes cringe level, from other mainstream football podcasts. more
