I’m always looking for podcasts that will give me an edge and many are a total waste of time. David is an outstanding interviewer and always directs the conversation in the right direction. Even with weak guests he makes sure the listener gets excellent information. It is my go to podcast that I can count on for improving my game. I highly recommend it… except to my competitors…<grin>

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

542: Launch Your Book
Q: Why is the book more of a business development tool than a product?
Because it should open doors, create conversations, and generate revenue and media opportunities, not just sit on a shelf; the book serves as a strategic lever to connect with prospects, partners, and customers.
542: Launch Your Book
Q: What is the overall macro flow of a successful book launch?
Initiate with a brainstorming conversation to define audience and direction, assemble a launch team, provide advanced reader copies to generate reviews, then execute a two-stage launch (soft and public) with a strategically designed post-launch phase to convert reviews into business opportunities.
542: Launch Your Book
Q: What do you recommend people think about? What's important in a book launch today?
Focus on writing a quality book that targets an audience who recognizes the problem you're solving, then validate the offer with your network and build a launch team to gather authentic, helpful reviews within a tight timeframe.
541: Sleep Better
Q: What is the alchemist's pen process and how does it help a writer structure a book?
Anne outlines a macro-level approach to reorganizing a manuscript, focusing on story flow, transformation for the reader, and then applying section-level edits to ensure the book is engaging rather than dry, with developmental edits throughout the process.
540: Joint Ventures
Q: What role does promoting other experts play in building trust and expanding one's own audience?
Promoting other experts demonstrates curatorial discipline, strengthens relationships, and provides real value to the audience by connecting them with trusted resources, which often leads to reciprocation and broader opportunities.
