  • Enjoyable podcast with Technical issues

I enjoy all the experience and analysis that Pierre brings to the show. My only complaint is the ongoing audio issues that seem to plague various shows. Between Pierre cutting in and out, or Jimmy not being in synch and talking over Pierre it makes certain episodes tough to enjoy. I hope in the future they can iron out these kinks.

  • Great Podcast

I will say this about Pierre McGuire: He is a hockey encyclopedia and it’s very entertaining to hear him share his hockey wisdom. What a contrast to someone like Matt Ohayon who seems to have limited knowledge of hockey prior to the PK Subban era.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly Joins Us! | The Sick Podcast - The Eye Test July 29 2026
Q: When can we expect expansion to move forward, particularly in Texas?
Expansion is in the early stages; while there is active exploration with a Texas group and interest in Houston, a firm timeline has not been set, and any move will depend on finishing documentation, arena plans, and board review.
The Jason Robertson Saga Was Very Odd… | The Sick Podcast - The Eye Test July 22 2026
Q: Given the current roster, what is the biggest need for the Habs to push over the hump this season?
A true centerman to stabilize the second line and balance the top six, with some potential internal candidates like Kaepernick or Dock stepping up, but the front office may not move quickly on upgrading the center depth; the coaching staff will adapt around the existing roster unless a significant mid-season acquisition occurs.
What Was The NHL Thinking?! | The Sick Podcast - The Eye Test June 29 2026
Q: What stood out about the discussions around drafting goalies early?
There is risk in drafting goalies ahead of consensus rankings, and the hosts note that early goalie picks can be controversial but sometimes pay off, depending on development paths and organizational support.
What Was The NHL Thinking?! | The Sick Podcast - The Eye Test June 29 2026
Q: What's your take on which teams did the best with their draft picks so far?
We evaluate not just the top picks but how teams set up for free agency and future development, giving credit to those who landed solid prospects and smart trades like San Jose and Toronto, while noting some organizations missed opportunities or misjudged value.
These Teams NEED To Win The 2026 NHL Draft! | The Sick Podcast - The Eye Test June 26 2026
Q: Do you think San Jose would trade two and nine for one top prospect?
It's plausible that San Jose would entertain one top prospect, but trading both picks for a single player could be unlikely; teams usually balance draft depth with obtaining top talent.
