  • THE Best!

Arpon and Marc Antoine are the two best writers following The Montreal Canadiens and two of the very best hockey writers period. Their conversations are fun, intelligent, analytical, and dive deep into all aspects of les glorieux for hard core fans and fans of great hockey talk. As writers covering the team on the daily, they have a level of insight you’re not going to get anywhere else. It also means you’re getting their unvarnished perspective on the players, coaching, management, and player d... more

  • Boring

While Apron and Marc-Antoine are knowledgeable about the Montreal Canadiens and hockey in general, they spend a lot of time just repeating things that they wrote about during the week, many of which have already been covered by other shows. Also, most episodes are 90+ minutes, which is way too long and only one per week is free, as they are constantly advertising for their paid episodes and chats. I also don’t like their arrogance, calling this the show for the “thinking” Canadiens fan and their... more

  • Jingle jingle

For as long as I can remember, hockey coverage in Habsland (ie the whole planet if we’re being honest) has been sensationalist, to say the least.

This podcast is wholesome & fueled with even keeled analysis of all things Canadien by two of the best journalists covering Le Club.

Came for the jingle. Stayed for the content.

  • Quality

There are other Habs pods but unlike those this one is short on noise, repetition and cringy cheeseballness and long on informed and thoughtful analysis. The best I’ve come across by far.

Drawing Lines
Q: What have you been hearing? Is Montreal now a prime destination or was Dobson an isolated event?
It's a one-off or it's not a trend until the Canadiens start to win.
Monahan's trade value | Jan 29, 2024
Q: Would Monahan come back after being a rental, and what price and term would be in play?
It's extremely rare for players to return after being traded, and while Monahan could be a sought-after player due to his performance, his injury history complicates potential returns.
Monahan's trade value | Jan 29, 2024
Q: What do you think will be the effect on the Canadiens in the standings if Monahan gets traded?
Losing Monahan would help the Canadiens finish at the bottom of the pack, improving their chances in the draft lottery, although they are already positioned between seventh and sixth best lottery odds.
A Savvy move | Feb 26, 2024
Q: What do you think of the idea of giving Primo and Allen the majority of the starts for the rest of the season?
While it's suggested that playing Primo more is important for his development, they shouldn't prioritize Allen's starts for trade value, as that may hinder Primo's growth.
A Savvy move | Feb 26, 2024
Q: Does the poor play of Anderson and Gallagher indicate limitations of the coaching efforts of Martin St. Louis?
The hosts discuss that both players have struggled, but their situations are different. Gallagher may be declining, while Anderson might be clashing with St. Louis' demands, indicating the complexity of teaching players with different skill sets.
