- A compelling, if difficult listen
The plot and its unveiling is compelling. Surprisingly so, in my case. The subject matter is an uncommon one, and normally, I’d recommend it on that alone. I fell the podcast is dragged down by its audio quality. I understand that it’s often diegetic, but its authenticity makes it very difficult to listen to.

Fiction podcast fans will notice a lot of familiar elements here … dusty stores of found recordings, long-form investigation with more questions than answers, a pair of unlikely researchers, and heavy references to former works (naming which former works will be a welcome diversion). A note about the sound quality — some of the rough sound is deliberate, some is not. By E4 I was really struggling, which really limits my listening options.
