One of my favourite podcasts ever. I love how well Stephee and Emilie blend humour with intersectional feminist discussions. If they ever decide to record more, I will definitely be hear to listen! Until then, re-listening will have to suffice
Stephee and Emily are who I wish I was in my 20’s. Keep doing what you are doing. Listening to you I am learning so much and your xfiles analysis is always spot on - especially Emily swooning over Scully - definitely can relate. Women 😍
Yes!!!!!!! Like hanging out with my smart and funny best friends who are (very respectfully) Extremely Sexy and Hot
This podcast is white feminism on crack.
So good
I started watching the X-files for the first time and don’t really have a soul to talk to about it with…then I found this podcast! Listening to Emily & Stephee has made me think critically about the series (while also laughing out loud). You can tell these two are truly close friends, the banter is so intelligent, uplifting, and sweet—it makes me wish I could be their friend too! 💕

X-Files is an imperfect show made 30 years ago and the Sex Files covers every episode with a feminist, sex positive perspective. As Stephee and Emilie will note, this was a series ran by white men where basic violence against women and their consent was baked into the DNA of the series. At the time, the feminist flank was solely represented by the performance and force of personality of Gillian Anderson. The fierce intellect and humanity she brought to Dana Scully, which was sometimes not script... more
This pod is my favourite part of each week! So much amazing effort is put into every episode and the detail and openness of discussion is always so so interesting and informative. Stephee and Emilie are the best! ❤️
I am so glad I stumbled across this podcast !! As a feminist and lover of x files this is pure gold.
So I only recently binged the entirety of the Xfiles and while I loved it- it was fraught with complications. This podcast does everything and more to highlight the infuriating condescension women receive in tv & film while also laying praise where it is earned.
I am usually not a fan of podcasts hit the hosts are so endearing and warm and funny that listening to them feels as though your having that overexcited passionate- fandom induced rant at three in the morning. Just without the exhaustion... more
I love this podcast so much!! ❤️ It’s a pure lovefest for Scully/Gillian aka love of my life and the sexy moments and tension between our babies Scully and Mulder... dissecting every episode, every look, every touch, every smile. LOVE
Stephee and Emilie are the cutest, most badass hosts! I always finish an episode feeling empowered and my cheeks hurt from laughing so much-AMAZING!! <3
The detail and effort put into every part (listener questions; the x files episode; Scully’s beauty; Gillian’s corner) is so special and it really feels like I’m having a chat with my besties about how much we all love scully (and also talking about the nasty shiz like the problematic writing and sexism on set to name a few e.gs)

Two queens discussing their (and everyone else’s) favorite queen (and king!). On a serious note, this podcast performs a critical analysis of a beloved tv show that has often been heralded for its pseudo-feminism but actually did a lot more to work against women than in favor of women in its narrative (and production).
The hosts do a great job of looking at the show through multiple lenses (gender, race, etc.) and are quick to point out problematic themes while also bringing in lightheartedness... more
This is the X-Files content I need in my life. I have been a fan since high school. The way they discuss topics is so gentle and kind. Smash the patriarchy and Chris Carter’s problematic writing!
my absolute favourite podcast ever!! i always feel so comforted and loved whenever i’m listening. i’ve grown so much as a person bc of stephee & emilie, and i am constantly in awe of these amazing humans. scully, feminism, tangents, empowerment, honesty; i couldn’t ask for anything more and i am BEYOND grateful <3
