  • Culty deconstruction tool at its best!

I love the approach Chris takes to question, explore and bring some good old fashioned critical thinking to the whole field of culty recovery and deconstruction. We get to learn these lessons or relive them … this podcast is a must follow if you are looking to understand the mind set and implications of culty manipulation and control.

Long time listener. I really enjoy this thoughtful podcast. It sounds like you owe Aaron an apology. Extra star for you if you do because that would be the classy move.

Informed information on cults, but I’ve come to avoid the podcasts with Jon Atack for two reasons. First, I heard him talk about a subject that I know something about and he’d misunderstood some aspects. Consequently I mistrust what he says about subjects I know nothing about. Secondly, he tends to turn a conversation away from a topic to talking about himself and he really is old enough to have got over himself by now.

Speaking of Cults...Breaking the Spell of Religion with Dr. Moe
Q: What is a double bind in psychological terms?
A double bind occurs when individuals are told they are defective and must follow strict rules, but challenging that authority is also deemed wrong, creating a mental prison.
Speaking of Cults...Breaking the Spell of Religion with Dr. Moe
Q: Could you explain more about identity issues tied to religion?
Identity in religious contexts often ties individuals to their communities and parental beliefs, making self-reflection essential for unpacking trauma and accepting oneself.
Speaking of Cults...Breaking the Spell of Religion with Dr. Moe
Q: How do you talk about or describe trauma when it comes to religious settings?
Trauma in religious settings manifests as a camouflage that hides nefarious practices, leading individuals to accept abusive norms as their reality.
Speaking of Cults...Let's Talk about Grant Cardone
Q: Do you think that con men in the business world are on the rise, or do you think it's business as usual for these guys?
I think it's both. It's business as usual, but there was a huge surge during the pandemic where deceptive coaches capitalized on the vulnerability of business owners.
Speaking of Cults...Let's Talk about Grant Cardone
Q: When did that history begin and how? How did you get lured into what I'm already kind of putting out there is something kind of bad, right?
It began around 2019 when I got introduced to Grant Cardone through his book, The 10X Rule. I got too deep into the organization and ended up spending significant amounts of money on seminars.
