This week I decided to tackle one of the most common and objectively false comments I've seen over the years about cults: the idea you have to be a moron or otherwise intellectually challenged to join a cult. This is simply not true and in this episo... more
This week I welcome cult survivor and author Kate Gale to discuss her work as a writer and poet and her experiences growing up on an off-the-grid farm run by a religious fanatic. She had no access to the outside world until almost an adult but picked... more
This week I offer a short but complete breakdown on coercive control, how to spot it, why it happens and how to stop it. This is a vitally important topic for people in not just cults but relationships and work situations too. There's a lot in this on... more

Long time listener. I really enjoy this thoughtful podcast. It sounds like you owe Aaron an apology. Extra star for you if you do because that would be the classy move.
Interesting.
Informed information on cults, but I’ve come to avoid the podcasts with Jon Atack for two reasons. First, I heard him talk about a subject that I know something about and he’d misunderstood some aspects. Consequently I mistrust what he says about subjects I know nothing about. Secondly, he tends to turn a conversation away from a topic to talking about himself and he really is old enough to have got over himself by now.
My husband and I watched our boy( kitty) cross the rainbow bridge in 2017. He was our oldest baby and we adored him. He was a kitty shaman who would use accu-pressure/puncture when we got sick and when I had my tubes tied. I love your podcast and have listened and enjoyed EVERY EPISODE. So glad to know that your the type of guy who would be emotionally devastated by the death of a furry family member. Keep it up! You’re a truly great person…❤️
I cannot recommend this podcast enough. I listen to a ton of podcasts and this is one of the best out there. Content is well presented, interviews are interesting and thoughtful and the long format means the information unfolds naturally. Chris also has a fantastic podcast voice making listening to him very pleasant.
