  • Commercials

I love this podcast and find it challenging and inspiring. Just the types of discussions a thinking Christian wants to hear. I do have one BIG complaint, though.

Please change the way you insert the commercial into the discussion. It is very disruptive and distracting when they pop up in the middle of a discussion, sentence, and thought. They are also some questionable Christian ethics about the sponsors. They are LOUD and jarring.

  • Pure blasphemy

Advertisements in a podcasts that teaches about Christianity. I would accept advertisements in any other type of podcast, but putting advertisements in a podcast that teaches about God and his Word is nothing short of blasphemy. If you can’t do the podcast without advertisements, then find a new job.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

“Pick your Poison”: Naturalism’s Cosmological Dilemma
Q: What can listeners expect from the planned deeper dive into Penrose's model?
There will be a focused, step-by-step examination of Penrose's arguments to avoid misrepresentation, followed by a rigorous critique and a second conversation to clarify and resolve outstanding issues.
“Pick your Poison”: Naturalism’s Cosmological Dilemma
Q: Why do you think the number of competing models signals a problem in naturalistic cosmology rather than a healthy research program?
Because a healthy program would converge on strong, well-supported models; the proliferation of models with similar fundamental issues (fine-tuning, violations of known physics, ad hoc assumptions) signals degeneracy rather than progress.
“Pick your Poison”: Naturalism’s Cosmological Dilemma
Q: What is your main critique of Penrose's Conformal Cyclic Cosmology, and how does it relate to fine-tuning and beginning versus infinite models?
The argument is not that Penrose's model proves a beginning, but that choosing infinite past models often entails unexplained fine-tuning and other epistemic costs; the starting point that best explains the evidence remains a beginning, while infinite models bring additional theistic implications.
Why the Fine-Tuning Argument is Stronger than Ever
Q: What do you think debates about fine-tuning are headed, given the trends over the last decades?
Debates are shifting from avoidant rhetoric to more open engagement; expectations are that new data and clearer philosophical formulations will tighten the empirical ground, making stronger cases while accommodating scientific realism.
Why the Fine-Tuning Argument is Stronger than Ever
Q: Why did you say this is your contribution to defend, the fine-tuning argument and The Privileged Planet?
The idea was to combine cosmological fine-tuning with the notion that planetary conditions optimal for life also enable scientific discovery, creating a tangible, testable link between life-permitting universes and an intelligent design inference.
