S16E3: GenAI for Geospatial Challenge Takeover – In Conversation with BolgiaTen
Q: Could you tell us a bit more about who else is working with this on you and with your team and the specific project that you're working on for the Gen.AI for Geospatial Challenge that we're hosting with AWS?
BolgiaTen is a small R&D group of scientists and business leaders; they collaborate with a development team from astrophysics, including part-time specialists, and they're partnered with Lloyd's List Intelligence for maritime data integration. The project merges AIS, Earth observation, and contextual vessel data to build a scalable, high-confidence risk model and prototype aligned with the GENAI for Geospatial Challenge.
S16E2: GenAI for Geospatial Challenge Takeover – In Conversation with RASID
Q: What is your pathway to commercialization and do you already have pilot clients for GoPilot?
Rasid operates as both a SaaS Geospatial Intelligence platform and a provider of bespoke Geospatial AI solutions. GoPilot is being integrated into our SaaS offerings, with pilot deployments and partnerships underway to expand beyond methane into agriculture, infrastructure monitoring, environmental compliance, and disaster response.
S16E2: GenAI for Geospatial Challenge Takeover – In Conversation with RASID
Q: How did you specifically bring your team together for this six-month challenge to ensure you had the right expertise across machine learning, remote sensing, cloud infrastructure, and software engineering?
Most of us had collaborated for more than a decade on geospatial AI and EO projects. The challenge brought together a multidisciplinary group whose complementary skills were essential to building GoPilot, and the network and existing relationships helped accelerate collaboration.
S16E2: GenAI for Geospatial Challenge Takeover – In Conversation with RASID
Q: So, your company, Rasid, and your team are one of the winning teams of the GenAI for Geospatial Challenge. Could you tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Rasid?
I'm Reda Haidar, Commercial Director at Rasid. My role sits at the intersection of technology and strategy and business development, working with customers and partners to translate our geospatial AI innovations into real-world solutions.
S16E1: GenAI for Geospatial Challenge Takeover – In Conversation with BigData Ghana
Q: What surprised you most during development?
The biggest surprise was how much value comes from the communication layer; the generative AI not only helps interpret outputs but also unlocks many use cases by making spatial insights conversational, which broadens accessibility beyond GIS experts.
