I've been trying to get David Walker (Bitter Root, Big Jim and the White Boy, Naomi, Badazz Mofo) on this podcast every season! Well, it finally happened. I never would have guessed that he'd pick Doug Moench and Paul Gulacy's Master of Kung Fu, but... more
Comics superstar Matt Bors (The Nib, The Toxic Avenger) returns to the show to discuss a different run: Grant Morrison's New X-Men. There's lots to discuss here about how this compares to other runs of X-men, what it means to be a mutant, how the ru... more

Great premise, great show! The two people talking format works really well, as the host offers some consistency and the guest some variety. Also, there’s a nice balance of enthusiasm to realism about the comics discussed, which is refreshing.
Please do multiple more seasons. Love hearing nerds talk about need stuff. The creators really know what they’re talking about.
If you’re a comic book fan in search of a podcast that will offer you something new on the topic, The Runs is the show for you. Ryan Alexander-Tanner is a working cartoonist and educator who brings a practical perspective to discussions of highly regarded, as well as often overlooked, runs of comic books by a wide variety of creators. The guests pick the run – Byrne’s FF, Kirby’s 4th World, Hama & Wagner’s Nth Man – and, as often as not, find they are introducing the series to Alexander-Tanner. ... more
A good concept with interesting guests, tarnished by the host. It would be one thing if the host was deeply knowledgeable about the topic being discussed and then chose to dump all over it. Instead, he gleefully claims ignorance to the topic while stating a typically negative opinion based on something he thought he recalled from years ago. Why start a comic book podcast featuring guests who are interested in comic books if you don’t appear interested in them?
I came across this podcast by chance. I'm a huge fan of comic book history, so this show really scratches that itch. Great podcast, but you couldn't have picked a worse title.
