  • Just a question. . . .

    I have a question for you. . . . .

I am a barrel racer and my horse has a special diet so he can’t eat molasses and hay so most of his diet is based on alfalfa..... I can’t seem to find a brand of healthy horse treats, so I was wondering what would you recommend for my sweetie? (Horse) love y’all.also i hope y’all make more episodes.

  • A great and fun way to spend my commute!

The Ride is a very innovative idea for a podcast, and it’s great getting to hear articles from the magazine years past that I missed. It’s a great chance to learn about people and topics that I otherwise would never have known about. As someone constantly looking to expand my knowledge on everything horses, this podcast is a nice addition to my go-to list.

Q: When did you realize that training horses and building a show program was your life's work, and what kept you going through the tough times?
They discuss discovering passion early, the importance of mentorship and modeling after greats while also developing their own approach, and how commitment to their goals, marriage, and shared purpose helped them persevere through financial pressures, injuries, and personal loss.
Ep. 135 How Lee and Holly Francois Weathered Adversity and Kept Winning
Q: So to get us started, for people who may know the name but not the full story, how did you get involved with horses and find your way into the cutting pen?
Growing up with family in horses, Lee and Holly describe starting young, being exposed to training practices from mentors in the industry, and gradually building a life around cutting horses through persistence, observation, and a willingness to learn from many influential figures rather than following a single path.
Ep. 133 Ben Beckett and Qualifying for The Run For A Million
Q: How do you prepare non-pro riders for a major, high-pressure show?
He emphasizes putting non-pros in tough, show-like drills at home so they're ready to perform with minimal attempts at the show, ensuring they ride correctly the first time.
Ep. 133 Ben Beckett and Qualifying for The Run For A Million
Q: When did you know you were going to pursue riding as a living?
Beckett recalls a light bulb moment in his mid-teens after spending time with mentor Rick Weaver, realizing riding could be a lifelong career rather than just a hobby.
Ep. 128: Kody Ward and Ranch Sorting
Q: What misconceptions do beginners have about ranch sorting, and what should they understand about the sport?
Many think it's just chaotic yelling and rough handling, but the sport is increasingly specialized with an emphasis on education, technique, and horseman ship. It's a clear, clock-based, team-focused activity with less politics and more measurable outcomes.
