  • Jim Gherity

I quit following Three Martini Lunch podcast because of Jim but now I’m dropping Ricochet because of the comments about the 25th amendment Jim made.

History is something that matters, and I was heartened to hear of Eli’s strong interest in history and the way things used to be. We have been here before. Now I have to go find that AI to compose my own song! Good luck to you all.

  • Chicks on the Right is a travesty

Well, as far as boot-licking cheerleading goes, Chicks on the Right is top notch. When it comes to thoughtful analysis and honest discussion, it is a travesty of a dumpster fire. If a person wanted this much persecution complex and nonsensical gibberish, they should go straight to the source of Trump’s own statements.

  • Camel-ah? (WTHGO)

Aug 22, 2024 & conservatives still insist on this. Why do conservatives insist on just being super petty? It’s either that or you’re just very well paid stupid people. Or racist. Is it racism? Whatever it is, you’re petty and small.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Freedom to Learn: Assistant Secretary Kirsten Baesler on Returning Education to the States with Waivers, Ed-Flex Authority, & Funding
Q: All right. A last question for our guests is typically, what is the myth that's bothering you the most that you want to tackle today?
The guest discusses two persistent myths: first, that removing the Education Department would eliminate funding and accountability for students with disabilities or living in poverty; second, that the Education Department is the sole hub for all K-12 activities, whereas interagency agreements already require collaboration with HHS, Labor, Interior, and others, and the shift aims to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Erick Erickson Show: S15 EP102: Hour 1 – They Never Meant It
Q: Do you think Israel and the US made a big mistake thinking that the people would rise up in Iran if they intervened?
The host explains that Israel had a plan to support Iranian dissidents, but says the plan was halted by U.S. leadership under Turkish influence, preventing a broader revolution and changing the trajectory of Iran's internal dynamics.
What the Hell Is Going On: WTH Is Going On with Iran? General Jack Keane Explains.
Q: All right. Jack, welcome back to the podcast.
Keane greets the hosts and sets the stage, agreeing that the current ceasefire isn't functioning as a real pause and outlining the Iran-centric dynamics driving the situation.
Madison's Notes: S5E9 A Divine Comedy: On Hollywood, Creativity, and Religion with Rob Long
Q: How have streaming and AI changed the business, and what advice do you have for writers facing technological disruption?
He argues that AI can handle procedural tasks but cannot capture true human feeling or truth, emphasizes staying spontaneous and authentic, and suggests embracing the irreducible human element in storytelling.
Madison's Notes: S5E9 A Divine Comedy: On Hollywood, Creativity, and Religion with Rob Long
Q: What was the writers' room dynamic like in Cheers, and how did you learn the craft?
He describes the collaborative, improvisational nature of the room, the balance between spontaneity and structure, and how mentors from classic shows shaped his approach to writing and problem-solving.
