  • Jim Gherity

I quit following Three Martini Lunch podcast because of Jim but now I’m dropping Ricochet because of the comments about the 25th amendment Jim made.

  • Chicks on the Right is a travesty

Well, as far as boot-licking cheerleading goes, Chicks on the Right is top notch. When it comes to thoughtful analysis and honest discussion, it is a travesty of a dumpster fire. If a person wanted this much persecution complex and nonsensical gibberish, they should go straight to the source of Trump’s own statements.

Aug 22, 2024 & conservatives still insist on this. Why do conservatives insist on just being super petty? It’s either that or you’re just very well paid stupid people. Or racist. Is it racism? Whatever it is, you’re petty and small.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Federalist Radio Hour: ‘The Kylee Cast’ feat. Dr. Joe Rigney, Ep. 45: The World Needs Christian Clarity, Not Jesus PR
Q: How should Christians respond to the current cultural climate regarding gender and family?
They should avoid soft-pedaling core biblical teachings about male leadership, the sanctity of marriage, and the value of motherhood, and instead present these as universal, objective truths in ways that resonate with common human experience, while avoiding antagonism that shuts down dialogue.
Federalist Radio Hour: ‘The Kylee Cast’ feat. Dr. Joe Rigney, Ep. 45: The World Needs Christian Clarity, Not Jesus PR
Q: What does it mean to move from a winsome, marketplace approach to a bold, public declaration of Christian truth?
The hosts argue that attempting to sell religious ideas in a marketplace mindset often yields diminishing returns, and that Christians should declare the truth boldly, trusting that God will work the results, while remaining respectful and clear about the moral imperatives that flow from creation.
Federalist Radio Hour: ‘The Kylee Cast’ feat. Dr. Joe Rigney, Ep. 45: The World Needs Christian Clarity, Not Jesus PR
Q: What is the Tao, and how does it relate to natural law in your view?
The Tao is Lewis's term for the universal moral order written on the human heart; the conversation treats it as the natural law underpinning cultural and ethical norms that Christians argue are foundational, even as societal acceptance waxes and wanes across the three world phases.
Federalist Radio Hour: ‘The Kylee Cast’ feat. Dr. Joe Rigney, Ep. 45: The World Needs Christian Clarity, Not Jesus PR
Q: Can you lay out Aaron Wren's Three Works framework for people who either didn't read his book or aren't super familiar with his essay?
Wren's framework charts three stages of American culture—positive world, neutral world, and negative world—each defined by how Christianity is publicly received and how moral norms are treated, with the shift over time from favorable to hostile attitudes and institutions; the discussion then explores how churches should adapt their engagement strategy across these eras, emphasizing clarity and conviction over accommodation.
The Back of the Book: The Creative Catholic Converts of 20th-Century Britain
Q: How did Newman influence later converts and the broader Anglian-Catholic movement?
Newman's intellectual rigor and argumentation helped shape a lineage of Anglican converts who sought doctrinal continuity with Catholic tradition, making conversion a serious scholarly and cultural pursuit for many.
