  • Perspective is EVERYTHING!

It’s been rare, in my experience, to be able to find a pastor so young who is packed with wisdom like Glenn. Yes, he’s educated. Yes, he grew up abroad. Yes, he married an Iowa farm girl. And he’s a musician (left brain thinker). But, I think what truly seems to define him for me is the furnace of trials he’s had to walk through at a young age, being in a big church with a pastor that had a fall from grace, and a later church tragedy. Those events, I’d imagine, caused an intense introspection, n... more

  • Great Encouragement

It’s not as glitzy or catchy as other podcasts, but it is not trying to be. Whereas other podcasts are using gimmicks to catch your attention so that listeners will buy something, this podcast is simple, straight forward and delivers helpful content. As an aspiring pastor (read: not yet), I find myself emboldened by the guests and topics. Definitely worth a follow.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

75 | Ger Jones on Evangelism that Listens First
Q: What shifts are you seeing in attitudes toward Christianity in this cultural moment?
There's a move from hostility to curiosity among younger generations; people want to see authentic Christian living and are open to spirituality, while being cautious about church brands and politics. The key is to be incarnational and relational first, then offer clear articulation of the gospel.
72 | Luke and Anna Hellebronth on Worship Leadership & Alignment
Q: How do you approach setting boundaries between creative freedom and the structure of Sunday services?
We aim to be spacious with margin while ensuring our direction aligns with the church's overall aims. That means planning with a framework, then allowing the Spirit to lead in the moment, and using small, regular feedback loops to keep everyone moving toward the same horizon.
69 | Edgar Sandoval on Leading Through Change & the Impact of Global Missions
Q: How have you navigated unexpected challenges as a leader?
Edgar discusses the importance of being rooted in faith and the mission, maintaining clear communication, and remaining sensitive to the team dynamics—especially during a crisis.
68 | Tyler and Kirsten Staton on Sustaining Spiritual Formation & Connection in Marriage
Q: What are some of the lessons you've learned as a certified doula around the context of marriage and suffering?
The importance of stability, consistency, and a calm presence is crucial during times of uncertainty and suffering.
68 | Tyler and Kirsten Staton on Sustaining Spiritual Formation & Connection in Marriage
Q: How did you arrive at that level of honesty and vulnerability as you seek to remain connected?
It's a combination of learning each other's communication styles and creating a safe space for processing thoughts and feelings.
