  • Great show

Only issue I’ve ever had with anything said on this show, and this is a problem with what may be called second generation raps fans, is when tre said Vince was a “great defender” (04-24-26). Vince was a turnstile. It was why they built a team of defenders around him and why the raps went nowhere with score-first Jalen rose and Marshall and a skinny cb4.

    Stop the Carter revisionism.

  • Where did the best show go?

WHERE IS BUCKETS AND TEA? What’s even the point of listening to RR without it? Zero stars. Such a HUGE disappointment.

  • The basketball of it all.

I love this podcast for its depth of the basketball of it all. Glad not too much of my listening time is wasted on pop culture.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Raptors Draft Options: HANNES STEINBACH, CHRIS CENAC JR. + MORE
Q: How do Bennett Stirtz and Meleek Thomas contrast as late-first-round guards for a team like the Raptors?
Stirtz is a high-usage shooter with strong ball-handling potential and elite scoring efficiency in college when drawing off-ball opportunities; Thomas is a versatile guard with off-ball defense and multi-positional play, though both carry the risk of longer development curves. The host suggests these players could provide cost-effective, scalable contributions if developed properly and paired with a true creator.
Raptors Draft Options: HANNES STEINBACH, CHRIS CENAC JR. + MORE
Q: What are the main concerns with Chris Cenac Jr. as a potential Raptors target?
Cenac's big-measurements come with questions about physicality, defense, and offensive versatility. He can rotate well on defense in Houston's scheme but has shown limited engagement and shot creation. His value would rely on developing into a viable spot-up shooter and interior finisher who can fit around primary creators rather than be a primary option.
Ranking The Best Bigs And Wings In The 2026 NBA Draft For The Raptors
Q: If Quaintance isn't there at 19, who's your next best option for the Raptors at the big position?
Morez Johnson Jr. or Allen Graves emerge as realistic fallbacks in the same tier, with Morez offering elite defensive versatility and rebounding, while Graves brings defensive disruption and potential floor spacing, making them solid alternatives to Quaintance if he isn't available.
Is Jakob out of the series? How do the Raptors beat the Cavs?
Q: What have you made of the matchup so far?
The hosts and guest agree that the Cavaliers' physicality and shot-making have been elite, but the Raptors have defended well, created better shot quality, and benefited from strategic rotations like leaning on Murray-Boyles to counter length on the perimeter, with room for improvement in bench scoring and keeping key players healthy.
What is the Raptors ceiling? w/ Samson & Tre
Q: Is it worth it to go try and hunt for shop making anywhere in the market?
I don't think it makes sense. They're right in the middle where they want to be and getting to see their roster play meaningful minutes against some of the better teams in the league matters.
