  • Not what i want but i still listen

These podcasts have just felt like a hang out spot for patreons and the regulars who enjoy getting a call in. I really miss what Iain used to do. He was a master of the radio call in. The best to ever do it. Unfortunately for me this isn’t that. They are going for something else and that’s great if you like it but I personally feel that if they just did the classic clunky gear change random call in stuff (for more than a few shows) regularly then maybe these two can get what they deserve from th... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

David Zucker (Airplane, Naked Gun) Interview
Q: You deliberately cast actors who hadn't done comedy before, and then discovered Leslie Nielsen, later a comedy icon—how did that casting choice come about and what did it teach you?
The approach was to work with serious-acting talent to heighten the contrast with the absurd material; Nielsen's serious demeanor became a perfect foil, validating the idea that misdirection and serious reactions can elevate spoof humor, and it underscored the importance of aligning talent with the film's tonal goals.
David Zucker (Airplane, Naked Gun) Interview
Q: What was it like dealing with the suits and Paramount and the fact that you were doing something so different—did they put their foot down or give you free rein?
They faced early resistance, including a key moment where the studio suggested color and a more conservative approach, but ultimately Paramount allowed creative control while providing mentorship through Howard Koch; the result was a collaboration that preserved their vision despite pressure, and they eventually settled on a black-and-white approach that proved viable.
