  • Worthwhile but a lot of focus on external stakeholders

I really enjoy this podcast for new ideas and techniques. However, a lot of the sessions focuses on products that are external facing. I support internal facing applications where the customer is our company employees. I would love a product management episode where product supports customers that are internal to the company.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A deep dive into the state of product in 2026 — Emily Tate (VP Product)
Q: What are your predictions for the next five years in product and AI, and how should teams prepare?
Expect another 12-18 months of AI-focused discourse with ongoing experimentation and evolving team ratios; the landscape will settle into a new normal but not revert to pre-AI conditions. Teams should experiment responsibly, maintain human-centered design, and focus on sustainable practices.
A deep dive into the state of product in 2026 — Emily Tate (VP Product)
Q: How should teams approach positioning in an AI-first world, and what messaging makes your product stand out?
Keep the fundamentals—story, purpose, and why you exist—while acknowledging that many can replicate AI features. Emphasize your unique, experience-based insights from a broad market and tailor positioning to the audience rather than chasing AI branding for its own sake.
A deep dive into the state of product in 2026 — Emily Tate (VP Product)
Q: What kind of topics and themes would you steer new product managers toward to build foundations before AI is fully baked in?
Focus on foundational product skills, balance practical talks with inspirational ones, and allow individuals to pick a couple of lessons that fit their role and company context rather than trying to absorb everything from a day-long conference.
How to build resilience in product - Lindsey Jayne (Product Advisor)
Q: What is the most common burnout you see in product teams?
Burnout often stems from the burden of responsibility without corresponding authority, heavy expectations from leadership, and a culture of relentless velocity without sustainable practices or clear, accountable decision-making.
How PMs can win with open source - Dan Ciruli (Product Leader, Nutanix)
Q: Dan, thank you so much for joining us today. How are you doing?
Doing great, and happy to be here after some scheduling back-and-forth.
