Not all audio fiction sounds like all the other audio fiction. And Polybius is a great example of this. Very PRX... but fiction!
A little dishonest - while they don't overtly claim to be factual they certainly work hard to make it seem like a journalistic investigation. "Bobby Feldstein", the main witness is entirely invented as are many people "interviewed".
As a fiction podcast into an actual urban legend this is bland, it adds little to the existing lore and makes me wonder why they'd take the fiction route and do little with it.
It ties in a (real) child abuse scandal which seems in poor taste for entertainment.
I downloaded a bunch of podcasts based off a list, and chose this one at random to begin with. It’s fiction, but I love that I actually had to stop and check a couple times - that’s how well the creators have written this. So many great elements that go into whether a person’s memories can be believed.
Gripping, twisty, and psychological. More melancholy than I thought it would be, in an interesting and meditative way.
This series was amazing! I don’t know what’s real anymore
