Some shows live comfortably in one gear. “Landman” decidedly does not. Season 2 is best when it’s bouncing between tones, when a moment that plays like broad comedy suddenly curdles into something personal and more uncomfortable. One scene has you la... more

Sweaty palms, bad decisions, and the creeping realization that the walls are closing in have always been Joe Carnahan’s cinematic comfort zone, from the raw nerve of “Narc” to the adrenalized chaos of “Smokin’ Aces.” With “The Rip,” Carnahan distills... more

There’s a certain kind of midnight movie that feels like it crawled out of an alley, brushed itself off, and dared you to follow it home. “Night Patrol,” the new wild horror stew from writer-director Ryan Prows, is exactly that. A vampire flick with ... more

There’s a specific perverse pleasure in watching a murder mystery show that knows exactly when to let you feel confident and exactly when to pull that confidence out from under you. Netflix's “His & Hers” does that trick over and over again. You thin... more

  • Middling and Mercenary

All these guys seem to do is 1) report the hype and then 2) hedge their bets. The pod is simply two guys riding the coattails of entertainment properties far bigger than they are.

  • Personable, complex, compelling

Adjust Your Tracking , a segment on The Playlist Podcast Network is incisive and interesting. I watched the movie Annihilation that came out earlier this year, felt so-so about the movie, listened to Joe and Eric talk about it, and then felt good to re-see the themes and formal qualities they discussed. It's a discussion in the fullest sense of the word. They talk casually but thoughtfully, often about the "state of the industry," but always for significant reasons. Can't recommend enough for mo... more

  • Avengers Pod

Just listened to the Infinity War pod. It was awful. I mean, truly bad. They had no clue what the heck they were talking about. 👎👎👎 and I’m not saying you have to be a huge fanboy to do a pod in the topic but this was just incorrect statement after incorrect statement. So bad.

  • Like.....

I love you & I love how much you’ve embraced Phantom Thread but dear fellows(s), the deeper voice of this podcast says ‘like’, like every 5 word. It’s almost a relief when the other fellow speaks. With love from somewhere outside America....

  • Great motivational podcast

I'm not especially a sports fan but I like relatable motivational podcasts. Found this podcast by chance and was drawn in to it within the first 30 seconds. It manages to combine motivation with business and the incredible drive that athletes have that can. We all have that drive that can help us make a success of life but some of us have to dig a bit deeper to find it.
