  • West is best but this is world class!

This poddy has taught me so much, not just about the perth market but property in general. I love the suburb spotlights, I could listen to them all day and would love some revisits of early suburbs. Top tier guests and absolutely top tier host. It’s so refreshing to listen to a host in this field that’s just so transparent. Other shows hiding behind and over protecting IP, Trent sees the value in the rising tide! Thanks and appreciation to all the team and all the work that goes into this show. ... more

  • Best Perth property pod

This is the best Perth property pod by a mile. Trent talks his own book a fair bit but still gets excellent guests and provides great insights in the Perth market. Need more market update episodes and more selling and buyer’s agents as guests. Strategic state-level guests and people like Basil Zempilas are less interesting than those on the ground seeing results everyday.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

382 - Doubleview Suburb Update ft. Richard Clucas
Q: What's changed in buyer profiles from 2019 to today in Doubleview?
Buyers today include upsizers and families seeking value with city/ocean views, and a more diverse mix across the escarpment and inner areas; first-time buyers are less dominant as price points have risen, but the demand for certainty and prepared transactions remains.
382 - Doubleview Suburb Update ft. Richard Clucas
Q: How has Doubleview evolved since you first spoke about it seven years ago?
The area has transformed with price growth, density changes, and stronger market presence, aided by a rebranded office footprint and expansion into nearby suburbs, while maintaining the core local, community-driven selling approach.
379 - Mortgage Market Update March 2026 ft. Sam Carrello
Q: What pragmatic strategies are working for getting offers accepted in a market with six to eight competing offers and long settlement timelines?
Get pre-approved early, present a strong cash-like offer when possible, negotiate settlements that suit both sides (e.g., 21–90 days), and use bridging or rent-back solutions to bridge gaps while maintaining financial safety nets.
379 - Mortgage Market Update March 2026 ft. Sam Carrello
Q: With fixed rates now higher, how should borrowers think about balancing fixed and variable portions in a loan?
Clients should consider a blended approach, using a fixed portion to gain certainty while keeping a substantial variable portion to retain flexibility and potential to ride rate drops, all within a clear cash-flow plan.
379 - Mortgage Market Update March 2026 ft. Sam Carrello
Q: First, what was the key driver behind the recent move in interest rates and how has that changed borrowers' expectations?
Rate expectations shifted quickly when banks moved rates by 25 basis points across the board and the RBA timing aligned with those increases; borrowers are now more focused on fixed-rate protection and the trade-off between certainty and higher upfront costs.
