  • West is best but this is world class!

This poddy has taught me so much, not just about the perth market but property in general. I love the suburb spotlights, I could listen to them all day and would love some revisits of early suburbs. Top tier guests and absolutely top tier host. It’s so refreshing to listen to a host in this field that’s just so transparent. Other shows hiding behind and over protecting IP, Trent sees the value in the rising tide! Thanks and appreciation to all the team and all the work that goes into this show. ... more

  • Best Perth property pod

This is the best Perth property pod by a mile. Trent talks his own book a fair bit but still gets excellent guests and provides great insights in the Perth market. Need more market update episodes and more selling and buyer’s agents as guests. Strategic state-level guests and people like Basil Zempilas are less interesting than those on the ground seeing results everyday.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

402- Building Supply Update ft. Michael McGowan
Q: Can we build more than the current throughput to address the housing deficit?
Yes, but it requires more skilled trades, improved continuity in the building environment, and new methods of construction to accelerate the pipeline.
402- Building Supply Update ft. Michael McGowan
Q: How's inquiry been? What's the story over the last four to five months?
Inquiry has declined by about 25%, but sales data remains reasonably consistent, indicating fewer tire-kickers and a more deliberate buying process.
400- R-Codes Update ft. Minister John Carey
Q: How do you respond to critics who say the reforms are lazy or will reduce canopy cover?
There needs to be a balanced approach that supports green space where feasible but recognizes the continuum of housing needs; the reform strategy includes both greenfield and infill, with local policies providing flexibility to adapt standards.
400- R-Codes Update ft. Minister John Carey
Q: Can you explain your pitch for why the R-Codes reforms are being pursued and how they will roll out?
The reforms aim to unlock land supply by enabling more infill, gentle density, and flexibility in front setbacks and privacy, while maintaining good design; the market will decide the balance and density levels along transport corridors.
398- Navigating WA's Property Market Q&A ft. Trent Fleskens
Q: Do you think property investors should hold on now or let go due to the changes of negative gearing?
Tax changes are a long-term dynamic; if the property is solid and cash-flow positive, holding is sensible, as the policy noise typically doesn't erase long-term value; don't sell just due to temporary headwinds.
