  • Arrogance

I never listen to Bible teachers who described themselves as best – selling authors and world, renowned scholars, and supernatural preachers. This kind of arrogance has no place in the gospel. The apostle Paul never would have referred to himself and such Americanized terms. Jesus spent his entire ministry denouncing people like this world – famous best – selling author Tripp.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

992. Do Historical Details Matter In The Old Testament? | Ask Paul Tripp
Q: Does seven periods of time mean seven years?
It's a purposely vague number in scripture that indicates this humiliation would not last forever and is meant to signify God's discipline, not condemnation.
980. Is Your Use Of The Word "Idol" Poor Hermeneutics? | Ask Paul Tripp
Q: What are both about your definition and use of the word idol specifically, but then more broadly about hermeneutics?
Idols can be both physical objects and anything that replaces God's authority in one's life, thus idolatry goes beyond the literal definition.
977. Substitutionary Temptation | Mark 1:12-13
Q: How are you doing with temptation?
We need to recognize our susceptibility to temptation and rely on Jesus, the second Adam, who faced temptation for us and empowers us to say no.
975. Which Old Testament Laws Do We Still Need To Obey? | Ask Paul Tripp
Q: Which Old Testament laws do we still need to obey today?
We are called to obey God's moral law, which includes the essence of the Ten Commandments, while ceremonial laws are obsolete and civil laws no longer apply as we are the new Israel.
971. How Do I Comfort My Grieving, Angry Son? | Ask Paul Tripp
Q: How do you comfort a parent grieving the loss of a child?
Acknowledge the pain of death and encourage turning to God for comfort and support.
