Generally enjoy the on-the-field football focus, but if you guys are gonna drone on about Bill’s comments it is disingenuous not to mention the comments that Kraft has and continues to make — like last week’s commentary about firing Bill and giving him so much power that he took the team to 9 SBs in 2 decades. Be fair in commentary or don’t comment on off the field stuff…

  • What about the receivers?

For crying out loud, Price — ask Hogan about the receivers. Is Brown doing a good job? How come the receivers don’t improve? Many of them got worse. It’s the one area Hogan absolutely knows about, so discuss it already.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Today's Takeaways: What happened at Patriots’ training camp on July 27?
Q: Who might be the backups or rotational players at tight end and tackle with camp progressing?
The discussion suggests Demetrius Crownover could be used as a depth player in heavy sets, and Caleb Lomu may see more time at right tackle unless conditions or roster needs dictate otherwise, with Morgan Moses expected to return to the lineup.
Today's Takeaways: What happened at Patriots’ training camp on July 27?
Q: What is the status of the Gonzalez contract situation?
There is cautious optimism about a potential contract extension for Christian Gonzalez before the start of the regular season, with the host saying there are good signs but adding that things can still change quickly.
Today's Takeaways: What happened at Patriots’ training camp on July 27?
Q: How is the wide receiver depth chart looking, especially with Kyle Williams and Keishon Booty?
The host notes the Patriots are stacked at wide receiver, with Kyle Williams competing for a roster spot largely as a kick returner, and Keishon Booty potentially in the mix; the overall sentiment is that there are more options than spots, making the roster decisions challenging but pointing toward a role for Williams as a returner rather than a primary receiver unless performances shift.
Today’s Takeaways: What happened at Patriots’ training camp on July 28?
Q: Why not start AJ Brown and Boutte at wide receiver?
Boutte has shown more potential and is compelling enough that the team may hold onto him for his development, while trade conversations would require a strong offer; the coach expects the situation to evolve as the season approaches.
Christopher Price talks to TCU linebackers coach Ken Wilson about Namdi Obiazor
Q: What's the single most important thing off the field people should know about Namdi as he prepares for his NFL career?
Namdi is a mature, well-rounded individual from a strong family background who values education, family, and leadership, and his off-field character and dedication will likely translate into how he handles progression and responsibility with the Patriots.
