  • Great Pod

Been listening for several years and love listening to Phil on here and Currans Patriots Talk Pod.

Only gripe is that lately the compression on your voice is making it harsh to listen to. It’s very punchy and perhaps the attack is too quick or the ratio is too high.

Hate to be that guy, but it won’t keep me from listening!

  • Question

Love your podcast! Do you think there’s any chance that Thayer Munford Jr could possibly break into one of the best starting 5 offensive lineman for the patriots this year? I know he’s a tackle, but wondering if left gaurd could be a possibility for him so we could move Wilson back to center? That would leave a stating 5 of Campbell, Munford, Wilson, Onwenu, and Moses. Would make it so Bradbury could become a good backup instead of a just OK starter.

Q: What's the best roster battle currently going on?

Q: What are your three under-the-radar players to watch right now?
Alex Barth highlights several players who have stood out in camp, including Caron Prunte, Demetrius Crownover, and Chad Muma or Khalil Jacobs depending on the day, emphasizing their traits, versatility, and how they could impact the defense or depth while not being big-name stars.
Training camp takeaways: Why it would be IRRESPONSIBLE to trade Kayshon Boutte
Q: What three things are you most looking forward to seeing when the pads come on, in terms of players and scheme?
The host and guest highlighted battles in the trenches, the Will Campbell vs. Draymond Jones matchup, and Trevion Henderson's development and fit within the offense, with emphasis on O-line protection, run game improvements, and how those matchups might translate to preseason play.

Q: Where does Christian Gonzalez rank among the top cornerbacks and how does his contract situation influence the Patriots' long-term defensive strategy?
Taylor placed Gonzalez around the top three at his position, noting his development and the market dynamics, including the potential impact of Devin Witherspoon's deal on what Gonzalez could command, suggesting the team may be reluctant to let him go without a mammoth deal.
Training camp takeaways: Why it would be IRRESPONSIBLE to trade Kayshon Boutte
Q: All right, Taylor, the best receiver through camp to this point has been Kayshon Boutte. So is he A, locking up his roster spot here in New England or B, increasing his trade value to the point where the Patriots will actually be able to move him for something of value?
Taylor suggested that trading Boutte at this point would be irresponsible due to the lack of clear depth behind him and his continued strong showing, which maintains his value and offers insurance for the offense.
