  • Praise and criticism

I am grateful for this resource as I am pursuing my undergraduate degree and intend to eventually apply to PA school.

I have listened to every episode and have found some great information on many aspects of the PA educational and career path.

One piece criticism that I intend to be constructive is that much more time is spent discussing PA educator topics than practical topics that can help prospective PA candidates. I would request and suggest that less time be spent discussing topics only... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Exploring the CASPA Program Directory
Q: So, can you tell us more specifically what is the CASPA Program Directory and how does it help improve transparency in the admissions process?
The CASPA Program Directory is a centralized resource where prospective applicants can explore CASPA participating programs and review cycle-specific admissions information in one place. It improves transparency by providing applicants with direct access to detailed admissions requirements, deadlines, program length, tuition, and other program-specific characteristics that come straight from the programs themselves, helping applicants make informed decisions.
Advancing Disability Access in PA Education
Q: Are applicants required to disclose their disability during the application process?
No. Applicants are not required to disclose; pre-admission inquiries about disability are prohibited, and such disclosures should not influence the admissions decision. If a student chooses to disclose, information can be directed to the Disability Office or the appropriate accessibility resources.
Season 7: Episode 117 - Inside the Future Educator Fellowship
Q: How has the PA education pathway evolved over the past years, and what does that mean for aspiring educators?
There isn't a single right path to PA education; rather, people come from clinical practice, research, curriculum development, or coordination roles. The fellowship illuminated that diversity, showing how communities and structured onboarding, mentorship, and well-being support make educators ready to teach, mentor, and perform scholarship and service.
Season 7: Episode 117 - Inside the Future Educator Fellowship
Q: What did the Fellowship prepare you for in terms of teaching and mentorship, and how did it shape your current roles?
The Fellowship provided structure, language, and a framework that moved me from simply delivering content to making learning relatable, sustainable, and actionable. It also fostered a close mentor relationship that helped me develop confidence to guide learners through long-term professional development and understand not just what to teach, but why.
Season 6: Episode 114 - Modern Recruitment in the PA Profession
Q: Can you talk about maybe some highlights or some things that our audience might not realize about the PA pathway that you encounter probably on a regular basis because of your position?
There are many pathways to becoming a PA, and often applicants underestimate their experiences and count themselves out too early.
