  • Interesting people!

I very much enjoy hearing from and about the various humans who are a part of Omni. Brent does an excellent job of interviewing and bringing out great information. I especially loved Anne Johnson and Brent’s performance of “Joey.”

  • Just an enjoyable podcast

Let me start by saying I’m a massive Omni Focus fan. But this isn’t why I like the podcast. There is something about the voices, the style, the easy going approach and just hearing from everyday people (at Omni) that is really pleasant. Really enjoy listening to this!

  • Inexplicable Fan

I don’t know why I like this podcast, but I really do. Episodes are charming and warm, don’t last too long and are usually pretty informative. I’m a big omnifocus user, but know nothing about code or underlying technologies and still I love the show because for every piece of developer-useful information there’ll be mention of a cool dog or cat. Theme tune is great and pleasingly short, and Brent is a relaxed and amiable host.

  • A backstage pass.

Brent does a great job hosting this podcast from the Omni Group. I love the "music!" command at the end (of course), but aside from its clever per-show signatures, the podcast sheds light on the personalities behind the Omni Group.

I use all 4 major products that the Omni Group offers, and hearing different folks speak about the team or job that they are on at the company really brings into focus just what it takes to make several great producers for both iOS and Mac.

I always enjoy tuning i... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How Ryan Briggs Uses OmniFocus
Q: When did you first come across OmniFocus or OmniGroup and how did it start for you?
The guest recalls it being around 2006, starting during undergrad, with OmniFocus appearing as the tool that finally helped manage tasks rather than relying on memory, and he has used every iteration since then.
How Trevor Foley Uses OmniFocus
Q: What automation or tools do you rely on to reduce repetitive work, and how do you avoid productive procrastination?
He uses automation judiciously (e.g., Text Expander, Keyboard Maestro) to standardize repetitive communications and forms, and emphasizes incremental improvements over overhauling systems, staying in the Apple ecosystem where possible to reduce maintenance.
How Trevor Foley Uses OmniFocus
Q: Can you kind of place OmniFocus in the broader workflow and explain how information flows in and out of it?
OmniFocus serves as the organizational hub and decision-making layer, while other tools (calendars, notes) handle time, context, and knowledge sharing; the flow is designed to minimize friction and keep focus on priorities.
How Ivan Weiss Uses OmniFocus
Q: What advice do you have for somebody who's like, I want to do more to keep track of my ideas, my commitments, my time?
The most important thing is to capture absolutely everything, write them down and give them space to see what's important, but keep it simple.
How Ivan Weiss Uses OmniFocus
Q: Do you have any recollection when you first came across OmniFocus or even the Omni Group a little bit more broadly?
I was a long-time GTD user and had been looking to try OmniFocus but was held back by not using a Mac until COVID changed my situation.
