  • Your time won’t be wasted

I learned about Nothing is Wasted when a woman at church suggested the book. Got it and read it - in pieces, because man is it a hard story. Passed it on to another woman at church who is devouring it.

And then we found out there was a podcast too!!

We’re both listening to this now, me in the mornings while making breakfast and walking the dog.

Thank you for sharing the redemption story of your family’s lives. Thank you to your guests for sharing theirs.

    We serve mighty mighty God.

  • Thankful Beyond Words

This podcast is my lifeline in all seasons—particularly my “impossible.” In my weakness, our God is strong, and Davey’s words—in book and podcast—echo in my mind to point me back to Jesus, time and time again. Thank you, Davey, for your heart for Jesus and for proclaiming His goodness no matter the circumstance.

  • A broken-hearted mom who’s found purpose

In May of 2020, my husband and I experienced the unimaginable pain of losing our 15-year-old son to suicide. Two years ago, I discovered the Nothing Is Wasted podcast, and I haven’t stopped listening since. Every episode has been a source of encouragement, insight, and deep healing. I often find myself taking notes because there is just so much wisdom shared by Davey and the incredible guests who generously open their hearts and stories.

Episode 440 - How Attachment Can Move You into Confident Faith, Courage, and Connection with Geoff and Cyd Holsclaw
Q: What is the practical path from awareness to healing within the church context?
The path involves recognizing that attachment styles are not fixed destinies but malleable neural patterns. It requires compassionate self-reframing, repair of ruptures through community and spiritual practice, and integrating mental health insights with scriptural formation to guide people toward the pasture—the secure attachment where they can flourish.
Episode 440 - How Attachment Can Move You into Confident Faith, Courage, and Connection with Geoff and Cyd Holsclaw
Q: What does it require for someone to become aware of these landscapes and understand which one they inhabit?
Awareness comes from a combination of self-observation, feedback from others, and education about attachment patterns, followed by compassionate self-study. People need to understand how they process information, whether they tend to rely on social-emotional cues or on logical, verbal processing, and how those tendencies shape their spiritual life.
Episode 441 - Hope Heals with Katherine Wolf
Q: What is your call to churches regarding disability and pain?
Her message is for the church to become more welcoming and accessible, to adopt a 'ministry of presence,' and to build tables that invite misfits and disabled individuals into fellowship and leadership.
Episode 441 - Hope Heals with Katherine Wolf
Q: What spiritual practices have helped you most?
Katherine emphasizes clinging to scripture, memorization, and surrounding herself with church community and mentors. She notes that prayerful community and the 'body of Christ' bolster resilience and provide ongoing support.
Episode 441 - Hope Heals with Katherine Wolf
Q: How did you come to a flourishing life after such trauma?
She explains that flourishing is a choice rooted in perceiving life through the lens of the kingdom, recognizing that God equips her with capacity to endure hard things and to serve others, turning suffering into a catalyst for growth and ministry.
