  • Clear Insights

I stumbled across Dr. Nathan Jacobs and have been incredibly blessed. First, I am fascinated by the enigmatic Orthodox Church and have found incredibly lucid teaching and instruction. Also, I have been intrigued by a deeper understanding of Greek Philosophy and ‘realism’ in particular. This podcast has delivered in full on both subjects. Thank you Dr. Nathan Jacob! I’ll be journeying with you into the future.

  • No other podcast like it

I like to say Dr. Jacobs is for people in their “post-Peterson eras.” There is no better podcast for substance and depth. Happy to say I’m an early adopter since this one is going to be huge someday.

  • One of the best

One of the only podcasts that I would care to listen to every episode. Dr Jacobs does a great job delving into topics of great interest for those wanting to learn how metaphysics shapes our world. Although I disagree with him on some things, I’m always eager to hear what he has to say.

God & the Fate of Judas, Natural Disasters, and Other Evils | Your Questions on the Problem of Evil
Q: Why doesn't God simply eliminate evil from the world?
This is linked to the complex nature of free will and evil's intrinsic link to human choices, where interventions could undermine the very freedom that is essential to love and moral responsibility.
God & the Fate of Judas, Natural Disasters, and Other Evils | Your Questions on the Problem of Evil
Q: How do you reconcile the tension between free will and the necessity of evil in God's plan?
The notion of necessity doesn't violate freedom; some evils can emerge from human choices that are still compatible with a divine plan rooted in freedom.
Dr. Jacobs Answers Audience Questions
Q: If Christians all held to realism, would they no longer feel the need to do evidentialist apologetics?
Jacobs argues that realism offers multiple ways to reason about God and doesn't negate the need for evidentialist apologetics, which focus on historical aspects.
Archetypes, Inspiration, & Christianity | A Reply to Jordan Peterson & Richard Dawkins
Q: What do you think about the impact of Jordan Peterson and Richard Dawkins’ philosophies?
There is a notable tension between the symbolic interpretations of religious narratives and their factual claims, raising questions about the reality behind stories such as the virgin birth or the existence of archetypes. The discussion emphasizes the importance of these narratives in understanding cultural values and the potential consequences of viewing them merely as symbols.
Why Would God Make the Damned?
Q: Why would God create a person who he knows will be damned?
God does not know the damned will be damned before choosing to make them; His knowledge follows His acts of creation.
