  • Amazing and Life-changing!

This podcast has been a lifesaver for me. Blending with 6 kids, ages ranging from 3-16… has been incredibly difficult and hard. I felt like I was lost and doing it all wrong and then I found this podcast! Truly a lifesaver for my frame of mind and how I think about blending. I also have felt validated for having certain feelings regarding the blend. I’m not so crazy after all! Thank you David and Lori for all of these inspiring, eye opening and constructive podcasts!

  • Incredibly important for anyone entering a blended family, or looking to improve their blend

I came to this podcast after starting a relationship with a man who had kids from a previous marriage. (First time.) I am profoundly grateful for David and Lori and their insight. While I am no stranger to children generally speaking, and enjoy the company of children, it’s a whole different experience as a (potential) stepmom. I felt so lost and alone, and was craving guidance, encouragement, and validation for this new world. I feel much stronger, more prepared, and more confident handling the... more

  • Your not alone

We put our blend under one roof and things change negatively. I thought I made a terrible decision. I thought my partner was not who I was supposed to be with. I was stressed and angry about the messes and feeling like a maid. I thought it was just us and we weren’t ok. This podcast made me feel validated in my feelings it. The podcast saved my relationship and my view on my whole blend. I listen daily and look forward to new episodes!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

359: Building a Custody Case Against Narcissistic and Abusive Co-Parents
Q: Tell us a little about yourself and what you do.
I'm a custody consultant who helps protective parents in high-conflict custody disputes by building strategic case plans, organizing evidence, and guiding how to present it so the court sees it as relevant and compelling for the child's safety.
355: Family Court Don'ts ~ Whitney Antoniono Family Law Attorney
Q: Tell us one of the biggest mistakes you see people make in family court, including before a case opens.
Many make mistakes in communication with co-parents—doing so in writing or via text that could be read aloud in court—because it's easy to misinterpret and judges can be swayed by tone and threats; the key is direct, targeted communication focused on the children, not on personal attacks.
325: One Stepkid's Journey
Q: What are your thoughts on making your bed in the morning?
I mean, it's a good habit to have, I guess, to make your bed in the morning.
325: One Stepkid's Journey
Q: Does your stepmom parent you?
I say she can. She provides me like another mother in my life.
325: One Stepkid's Journey
Q: How do you feel about bouncing back and forth between homes?
It's not difficult or anything; I don't mind it at all.
