I just found this podcast and am SO grateful! I’ve been going through a lot of older episodes over the past couple days, and I keep coming back to topics like teenage stepdaughters and being a child-free stepmom. I’m getting married in six months and trying to be intentional and prepared, especially already recognizing the stress that is coming with my fiancé’s shift work and two step kids. While his kids really like me (so far) things feel challenging at times when it comes to logistics and dif... more
This podcast has been a lifesaver for me. Blending with 6 kids, ages ranging from 3-16… has been incredibly difficult and hard. I felt like I was lost and doing it all wrong and then I found this podcast! Truly a lifesaver for my frame of mind and how I think about blending. I also have felt validated for having certain feelings regarding the blend. I’m not so crazy after all! Thank you David and Lori for all of these inspiring, eye opening and constructive podcasts!
I came to this podcast after starting a relationship with a man who had kids from a previous marriage. (First time.) I am profoundly grateful for David and Lori and their insight. While I am no stranger to children generally speaking, and enjoy the company of children, it’s a whole different experience as a (potential) stepmom. I felt so lost and alone, and was craving guidance, encouragement, and validation for this new world. I feel much stronger, more prepared, and more confident handling the... more
This show is such a help resource for those blended families, David and Lori have wonderful advice!
We put our blend under one roof and things change negatively. I thought I made a terrible decision. I thought my partner was not who I was supposed to be with. I was stressed and angry about the messes and feeling like a maid. I thought it was just us and we weren’t ok. This podcast made me feel validated in my feelings it. The podcast saved my relationship and my view on my whole blend. I listen daily and look forward to new episodes!!
