Many physicians reach a point where they are functioning well on the outside — delivering good care, staying credentialed, showing up — and yet something beneath the surface feels flat, restless, or not quite right. Not burned out exactly. Not unhapp... more
After being rear-ended at highway speed by a driver who fled the scene, I found myself navigating physical pain, emotional shock, unanswered questions, and a choice I didn't expect to face: pursue justice or let go.

In medicine, we are trained to trust what is hard, measurable, familiar, and structured. We question whether something spacious, nourishing, or beautiful can be meaningful, impactful, and lead to real growth and learning.

This podcast is a breath of fresh air. Wisdom directly from physicians. Calming, introspective. I especially appreciate the mindful moments / guided meditation at the end of each podcast. Thank you for this healing space.
Thank you for your kind, compassionate, life-changing advice. I am starting to make my way through these podcasts and find them incredibly valuable. I can already see the positive effects in my relationships at work and home. I also highly recommend investing in one of Dr Mahoney’s retreats and/or having Dr Liang speak at your institution. I was blessed to experience both recently. These women are brilliant!
As a patient with chronic illness, I appreciate this podcast because the hosts offer a grounded exploration of mindfulness with examples that are relatable and actionable. It’s calm yet engaging and encourages self-awareness rather than quick fixes. With every challenge I face during my disease progression, I feel more capable to handle the emotional toll of illness by shifting my perspective.
I have been listening to this podcast almost since episode 1. Drs. Mahoney and Ni-Cheng Liang bring the wisdom they have gained from working in physician wellness and share it with us. Every episode has pearls that I can take and implement in my own life. Their wisdom is practical and actionable. The most recent episode discussing it’s not quitting it’s graduating is a home run and a must listen for anyone contemplating a career transition.
Thank you SO MUCH for the Graduating Instead of Quitting episode. So many of us unhappy, unaligned physicians are stuck at this impasse, for all the reasons you described. For me, this episode was a gift from the universe, and it gave me the clarity I needed about a job I outgrew a long time ago. Thank you for giving us permission to see quitting as a win, not a fail.

This show centers on mindfulness, leadership, and sustainable well-being for professionals, especially physicians. Episodes blend practical coaching tools, mindful practices, and real-world medical leadership stories to help listeners reduce burnout, improve communication, and lead with presence. A notable strength is the practical framework-driven approach (like RAIN and nervous-system regulation) paired with accessible mindfulness exercises, guest perspectives from physicians and wellness advocates, and retreats or coaching offers that extend learning beyond the episode. The format, warm host dynamic, and emphasis on actionable takeaways make it helpful for clinicians seeking balance, resilience, and a kinder approach to medicine and life... more
