  • Guest list 🫤

I really like Dermot Whelan and his live shows but as a podcast - the guest list is just a rotation of the usual Irish celebrities seen and heard from time and time again on other similar platforms. Would love to hear from different guests on the subject of mindfulness.

  • Will listen over and over

A lot of health podcasts are great in terms of you know a lot of the info already but it’s good to remind yourself. However, this podcast is on a totally different level. My mind had been blown with totally new ways of looking at things. I’ve been listening while on long journeys so haven’t been able to take notes so I’m definitely going to re-listen with my notepad and pen. Thanks a million Dermot!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Why Your Breathing Might Be Fuelling Your Anxiety with Patrick McKeown
Q: What is the biggest myth about breathing?
The idea that a big deep breath instantly calms us is not accurate; instead, slowing and nasal breathing, with a longer exhale, helps dampen the distress response and improve performance under stress.
Life’s Invisible Scorecard: Rethinking Success with Charlie Norton Sherwood
Q: What is the core shift you help people make in coaching?
Helping people reconnect with their values and find a path that aligns with who they are, rather than what they think they should achieve, through values work and actionable steps.
Things Your Future Self Will Thank You For with Dr Mark Rowe
Q: How can someone start becoming the CEO of their own health?
Begin by knowing your numbers and making small, manageable changes; tailor actions to your life, track progress, and stack new habits onto existing routines to steadily improve health outcomes.
Things Your Future Self Will Thank You For with Dr Mark Rowe
Q: What is lifestyle medicine and why are you passionate about it?
Lifestyle medicine treats health through everyday habits—exercise, sleep, real food, stress management, relationships, and environment—because these are the pillars that most influence long-term well-being and disease prevention.
Parenting the Screenager with Dr Richard Hogan
Q: If you had to give one social media rule for every home in the country, what would it be?
Prioritize sleep by removing devices from the bedroom at night; a good night's sleep significantly improves mood and self-regulation for teens, making other boundaries easier to enforce.
