  • Jacqueline Kelly ~ Matrescence 🩷

I absolutely loved listening to Jacqueline Kelly’s podcast on matrescence. It really struck a chord with me. I’m just starting out on my coaching journey, and this has inspired me to dig deeper into understanding this topic. The way she explained the emotional and identity changes of motherhood was so relatable and eye-opening. I can’t wait to explore this more. Thank you Síle, for everything you do 🩷

Writing became a lifeline that helped me recover from postpartum depression and reassemble my sense of self, blending lived experience with historical study to create a lasting legacy.
Lesley Bond: Life on the Great Blasket
Q: What was the most challenging part of living without electricity and with basic amenities?
The physical hardship was intense, from cold showers to limited lighting, but the deeper challenge was staying present and building a new routine with a tiny, tight-knit community.
Siobhán O'Hagan : Solo Motherhood
Q: How has sharing your IVF and solo motherhood journey online affected you personally and professionally?
Sharing brought huge support and a community of people going through similar journeys; it also attracted negative attention, but the positive responses and solidarity from followers helped me stay true to my path and keep going.
Siobhán O'Hagan : Solo Motherhood
Q: Can you walk us through the IVF donor process and what was most important to you when selecting a donor?
I started with donor sperm profiles on a European bank, looking at physical traits, education, and a donor's letter to future child. The process involves selecting embryos, monitoring with tests, and then a transfer, followed by a waiting period and blood tests to confirm pregnancy.
Siobhán O'Hagan : Solo Motherhood
Q: When did you decide you would have another child, and what shifted your perspective on potentially growing your family?
I had initially believed I wouldn't want more children, but seeing other pregnancies around me and a shift in how I felt about family made me reassess; the timing felt right as toddlers get easier and my life alignments supported it.
