If you thanks for your great podcast. I love your down to earth Frank discussions. I get excited when I hear people talking the truth about horse welfare. And not trying to gloss over things that are harmful horses. Great work! keep it up! Thank you.
As someone new to horse ownership I am so happy to have found Shelby. Her podcast, patreon and tack ( love the neck rope) are wonderfully educating and enlightening. I appreciate so much that she does not shy from her values in and out of the horse world and is not afraid to use her voice and platforms to do so. If you are triggered but what she says I advise you to look inside to see why that is.
Even though I agree with many, if not most, of Shelby’s views on horse care and training, her method of expressing them exudes toxicity and condescension. In Shelby’s world view, there’s very little room for nuance. In horse care and training, there is ALWAYS nuance. The “right” answer is always “it depends.” This podcast is not an enlightened space, as everything is presented in black and white terms. If you are trying to live a mentally sane existence, don’t waste your time listening to Shelby... more
I have been watching Shelby’s YouTube videos since the beginning and have been there for the first podcast. I absolutely love the information she shares on the podcast with Lockie Phillips. The way they both talked about the relationship with their horses and how different situations and mistakes they learned from to get them where they are now. It gives truth about listening to your animals and learning from your mistakes.
Very interesting podcast. Thank you Shelby, for shifting my view on handling horses and opening my eyes :)
