  • Mike is great!

Love listening to the podcast. Way better than the constant radio ads. Mike is not afraid to ask tougher questions. Regular contributors are fairly left leaning.

  • Too many Socialists!!!

This would be such a good show, however, Mike or Corus, insist on only socialist guests/segments! Bill Beat, total ndp commie! Keith Baldly, proven ndp supporter, that guest host lady, is pure woke commie! I could go on. At least bring balance Mike! Less socialists!!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Major safety concerns being raised over the aging Massey Tunnel
Q: Should there be an independent review of the cost escalations and timeline?
Yes, a third-party review is warranted to detail current costs, alternatives, and the true timeline, given the repeated delays and lack of a clear environmental certificate.
Major safety concerns being raised over the aging Massey Tunnel
Q: Are the contractors being up front with the public about the risks and costs?
There has been little transparency, and there are signs of an escape hatch toward cheaper options, while industry estimates suggest the project could escalate to well over initial projections.
Major safety concerns being raised over the aging Massey Tunnel
Q: What are your thoughts about these newest revelations regarding the safety concerns?
I view them as not entirely new; concerns about seismic and technical challenges have persisted for years, with industry experts already warning about the risks of adding a new tunnel alongside the old one.
Do we need warning labels on alcohol?
Q: Do you think warning labels actually change consumer behavior in any meaningful way?
The guest contends that warning labels may fail to change behavior because people often disregard warnings perceived as overblown or misaligned with actual risk. He also cautions against equating alcohol with cigarettes and warns against creating a moral panic that changes consumer choices without solid evidence.
Do we need warning labels on alcohol?
Q: What are the new proposals here around alcohol warning labels, and what do you think of this?
The guest explains that the proposals focus on cancer risk, but argues the provincial labeling would be logistically messy and likely ineffective, given the small actual risk increases associated with moderate drinking and the potential misalignment with broader health benefits. He also critiques the data sources and highlights conflicts of interest and potential policy overreach.
