Anna O’Brien is seriously contending that she is a medial mystery with “no burnable fat” despite losing nearly 100 pounds on Wegovy because she’s not a mystery - caloric deficit works. She advocates for dangerous surgeries that no doctor of good standing would allow for a patient who is still 300 pounds overweight. And comparing obesity to some of these other serious illnesses is beyond tone deaf. It is time to hang up this ridiculous podcast.
As an RN, I love this podcast and have learned so much. It's valuable to have the information and journey from the patient’s and families’ perspectives. As a patient with an autoimmune disease myself, I appreciate the long and convoluted path that finding a diagnosis as well as an effective treatment can be.
I have learned sooooo much from this show that is helping me with my own medical journey!!!
Used to enjoy these and there have been so great and interesting stories but the last few I’ve listened to and especially this last one now the hosts are totally gaslighting the medical community and making assumptions on what the providers were thinking when obviously the involved parties did not communicate well with them all that was going on.
Very irresponsible comment by the doctor host. These drugs are very different. Narcan is used as an emergency drug for overdoses. You could lead someone to believe they are interchangeable. Please correct!
