I can’t remember how I found this podcast, but it’s been healing for me to hear so many others’ stories. I think I find a bit (or more than a bit) of myself in every episode. It is such a worthy project. Super job.
This podcast has been very healing for me as a survivor myself. Even after being out for 3 years I still question if it was abusive and man listening to these stories makes me realize 100% that it was. It’s important for victims to know they are not alone. Thanks❤️
I’m two episodes in (starting from newer episodes) and all of the laughter from the guests when describing this is distracting. Maybe it’s nervous laughter, or embarrassing recounting these memories.
I heard your story on “what was that like.” I’d like to say that I’ve never been in an abusive relationship but I do not believe that is the case. I appreciate listening to these stories. As a law enforcement officer, this has opened my eyes as to what could be happening when I respond to these calls. It has helped me to listen more. My biggest question has always been “why don’t you leave?” Now I’m hearing and understanding how hard that is to do.
You have some incredibly brave, resilient storytellers on your show.
Have you ever come upon any DV stories with the husband/bf as the victim?
