  • Good show…

…covering all the big stories in UK media. I wish it were on more often! Perhaps the producers might think of branching out and taking a view on English language media overseas.

  • Interesting but very one-sided unfortunately

Been listening for years and years since it’s roots as Guardian podcast. Interesting and topical though, unfortunately, tends to be always a one-sided discussion with only left leaning point of view with anything centre ground or right views not included to add more diversity and contrast - and more “sparky”. It would be a richer discussion and update with a more diverse discussion and points of view. I think the only non-left guests ever was an ex-Culture Minister and then only an interview.

  • A great podcast

A great listen, but wish it was released earlier on in the week, so could listen to on the tube rather than it being released on a Friday evening.

  • Good podcast but…

I do loathe a podcast that at the outset is trying to sell you something, I get the need to fund the production, but with patreon, in podcast ads etc why the need for the sometimes brutal hard sell of services, the presenter obviously has a sanctioned ‘read’ but it’s infuriating, especially the week when it started with, ‘look we’ve asked you nicely, but not enough of you have signed up to blah blah blah’ I tend to skip the first minute of hard sell and listen a normally very good podcast, just ... more

Sky’s £16m SNL Bet
Q: What makes Sky's SNL UK a brave bet in the current market?
The hosts discuss that landings on a bold US-format adaptation, a high budget, and a cross-platform push to extract value from YouTube and Sky's own ecosystem could pay off if it lands with the right UK voice and writers, but it risks if the jokes don't land or if it doesn't translate culturally.
Telegraph Deal Take #4... and are you World Cup Ready?
Q: How is the football media business evolving in the US as the World Cup approaches?
There is optimism about growth driven by a large potential audience, emphasis on non-rights content, and monetization through brands and creators; the US market is seen as a major opportunity for global football media brands.
Telegraph Deal Take #4... and are you World Cup Ready?
Q: What implications does the Banijay-All3Media merger have for Netflix and other streamers?
The guests view it as a signal that consolidation is a growth strategy for mega-indies; it could set the stage for Netflix and others to pursue bigger content pipelines and cross-border collaboration.
