  • Short episodes TFW

I’ve been loving the short bathroom breaks. There quick, to the point explanations of marketing tips/trends/strategies. I’m into it, keep it up.

  • Is the host ok?

I listened to the Agnew interview and found him to be very well spoken, insightful, and able to articulate how behavioral psych has practical application very well. I am excited to follow his pod. But the host was borderline uncomfortable to listen to: stumbling for words, taking long but not thoughtful pauses, seemingly disengaged, and not adding anything of worth to the convo. I’ll give it another shot in time but hope these issues get addressed.

  • Cringy, but some gems

I don’t know if the host is doing a bit or what, but the “millennial buzzwords” that he relies on for intros/segues are hard to listen to (and, in my opinion and at the risk of sounding too much like a marketer, really devalue the brand he’s building). Most of the topics aren’t super applicable to me, but for the most part I enjoy the guests he brings on and their conversations. There is just enough good content here to keep me subscribed, solid three stars.

A CMO's Guide to Pipeline Math, with Amanda Cole, CMO at Bloomreach | Ep. 439
Q: But I want you to explain how you think about working backwards to get a pipeline number, like what is the math behind it?
Amanda describes starting from the revenue target and mapping back through required opportunities, win rate, conversations, and contacts, then tying these to channel spend and heads in order to set realistic targets and budgets.
How to Win as a Challenger Brand, with Andrew LeRay, Director of Brand Marketing at NWSL

How to Manage AI Agents Like Employees, with Brandon Metcalf, CEO and Founder of Asymbl | Ep. 435
Q: What is your stance on the common fear that AI will replace humans, and how do you manage the human workforce in a digital-first world?
Brandon argues that AI should elevate humans, not replace them, by shifting human roles toward coaching, managing, and higher-level decision-making while letting digital workers handle repetitive tasks. The emphasis is on maintaining a human in the loop and designing roles so people can grow alongside AI.
How to Manage AI Agents Like Employees, with Brandon Metcalf, CEO and Founder of Asymbl | Ep. 435
Q: How do you determine whether a role should be human, digital, or hybrid, and what does 'job design' look like for AI agents?
The approach centers on defining the job to be done, the measurable outcomes, and whether a human is needed for judgment or relationship-building. They use a T-shaped leadership model, vertical specialization, and guardrails to avoid drift, ensuring AI agents deliver a clear business outcome.
