  • Entertaining and Valuable

My favourite free investment podcast. Thoughtful interviews with some questions you are unlikely to hear elsewhere. Fun market discussions - happy to be irreverent but never crude.

  • Irreverently relevant

Seriously entertaining for those who like to get into the weeds on markets. Kevin’s guru bravado perfectly counterpoints Patrick’s ubernerd chartmeistership and their brilliant guests complete the recipe. Full disclosure #1 this podcast has saved me serious money recently. Full disclosure #2 I still have no idea what the role is of the English guy who talks about beer.

  • I love Vincent Deluard

“I mean, in France, we are really coming up with extraordinarily good looking young men as Prime Minister. When Macron [became president], he was 38, and he put on a 31 year old prime minister, and now we’re going to like, 27!

Kevin: you’re just putting boy toys in charge of your country.

Vincent: honestly, after watching yesterdays debate, I thought, you know what? At least we look better in France.

    What a legend

Not me. I’ve been listening forever.

I was listening to Guy Adami’s on the tape podcast. The three sectors he was touting was Energy, Gold miners and Copper. Sounds Familiar??

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

PATIENCE IS LIKE A MUSCLE (Guest: Leslie Harris)
Q: How do you handle a bad trade when you believed in your process?
Treats losses as part of the career, reinforces the long-term view, and uses a disciplined exit strategy like selling thirds to manage risk and gauge current comfort with the position.
PATIENCE IS LIKE A MUSCLE (Guest: Leslie Harris)
Q: Your approach about being right three or four times a year—what did you mean by that?
He emphasizes patience and selective action, focusing on big, high-conviction trades rather than constant activity; the idea is to maximize returns when the setup is truly right and avoid overtrading.
WEAPONIZE THE PERIODIC TABLE (Guest: Tony Greer)
Q: What was the moment you realized you wanted to be a trader?
It wasn't a single moment but a realization that my energy came from market dynamics and family conversations around bid-offs at the dinner table; watching my dad trade energized me and pointed toward trading as the path I wanted.
ROI not AGI (Guest: Leonid Mironov)
Q: How does AI development differ in China versus the US, according to your view?
In China, AI is driven by ROI from day one, with focus on application-specific outcomes rather than generic AGI ambitions. Funding is more constrained compared to the US, leading to more pragmatic, product-led AI lab results and rapid deployment in manufacturing, logistics, and industry-specific tasks.
ROI not AGI (Guest: Leonid Mironov)
Q: What do you think about the macro implications of China's anti-involution policy on domestic profits and pricing power?
The policy aims to curb non-market price suppression and force more market-driven pricing, which should improve margins for some Chinese producers as subsidies and rebates recede and competition is redirected. It's a multi-year process, but the direction is toward stronger corporate governance and higher real pricing power, especially as inflation pressures reemerge.
