  • Irreverently relevant

Seriously entertaining for those who like to get into the weeds on markets. Kevin’s guru bravado perfectly counterpoints Patrick’s ubernerd chartmeistership and their brilliant guests complete the recipe. Full disclosure #1 this podcast has saved me serious money recently. Full disclosure #2 I still have no idea what the role is of the English guy who talks about beer.

  • I love Vincent Deluard

“I mean, in France, we are really coming up with extraordinarily good looking young men as Prime Minister. When Macron [became president], he was 38, and he put on a 31 year old prime minister, and now we’re going to like, 27!

Kevin: you’re just putting boy toys in charge of your country.

Vincent: honestly, after watching yesterdays debate, I thought, you know what? At least we look better in France.

    What a legend

Straws Accumulating on The Camel’s Back (Guest: Brian McCarthy)
Q: What do you think about the current market regime and potential shock scenarios?
The hosts and guest discuss a regime of mixed signals where oil, inflation dynamics, and geopolitics could trigger a risk-off move; they emphasize the need to assess whether a lagged policy response or capital market stress could lead to a significant pullback, followed by a possible rally if a capitulation occurs.
ROBIN HOOD ON CRACK (Guest: Brent Donnelly)
Q: What do you see happening to the Yen?
It could be interesting to watch if a capital flows element comes into play here and the yen rallies.
DOG CHASING ITS OWN TAIL (Guest: Vincent Deluard)
Q: Why do you think the current policies are making the economic crisis worse?
Vincent argues that they are misidentifying debt as the main issue whereas affordability and asset prices are the real problems, requiring a different approach.
Seriously, Marvin?! (Guest: Marvin Barth)
Q: What driven insights do you have regarding current interest rate policies?
Marvin indicates that pressing the interest rates lower while faced with inflationary pressures may be a significant mistake, urging a reevaluation of economic measures in light of actual growth data.
