  • Chuffed

I’m a new owner after inheriting my mums 110. This podcast has been so smooth to slip into even with my limited knowledge. Often lots of relatable little remarks about the ownership of these vehicles. Very happy they were recommended to me.

  • Great show

I used to own a 2011 Defender 90. I sold it during covid as it wasn’t being used and I got a silly price for it. I do miss it and would love another one. Maybe I’ve missed the boat. Still love hearing about the brand and get a good laugh from you guys. Don from Melbourne Australia.

Saving Defenders from the crusher – US attorney Will Hedrick
Q: What practical advice would Will give to someone importing a Land Rover to the US?
Do your homework to ensure the vehicle is original as best as possible, understand the nuances of US state laws after entry, and be mindful of VIN and chassis changes, galvanizing, and the need to verify records and build histories to avoid seizures or destruction of the vehicle.
Saving Defenders from the crusher – US attorney Will Hedrick
Q: What was the outcome, and how did it affect other owners?
The case culminated in a settlement conference where the government relented, returning all the vehicles and paying damages where needed, transforming a narrow defense into a wave of help for many owners and prompting Will to shift into a broader practice helping importers and collectors.
Saving Defenders from the crusher – US attorney Will Hedrick
Q: How did Will get involved in this Defender import case, and what was the core issue?
Will explains that after moving from a Land Rover background into law school and public service, he took on a case involving a 2000-model Defender that the Homeland Security team claimed was imported earlier than the 25-year rule allowed, leading to a civil forfeiture and a broader legal battle over VIN swapping and chassis integrity.
Best £4000 all-rounder, new-old-stock parts, seized Td5s and the greatest Land Rover night of your life
Q: Adam asks what is the best option for a first Land Rover under £4,000 with family use in mind?
The consensus is that a Disco 3 offers space and practicality, while Freelander 2 provides car-like usability; rust and maintenance are critical factors, so inspecting for rust at sills, chassis, and rear cross members is advised, and be prepared for parts availability and potentially high wear items.
Best £4000 all-rounder, new-old-stock parts, seized Td5s and the greatest Land Rover night of your life
Q: Hi Stephen Martin. Question, an adventure question for you. What was the best night of your life, and where were you? Why was it so good?
Both hosts share nostalgic Billing Aquadrome and off-road weekend memories, describing camps, friendships, and the sense of freedom from youth, which made those nights unforgettable due to camaraderie, adventure, and a lack of modern-day distractions.
