Promoting a card-carrying critical race theorist like Jarvis Williams was surprising. I’m not interested in hearing about a false gospel. Unsubscribed!

  • This one will get you thinking…

I have tried to get into a few different podcasts, but I haven’t found any that I consistently enjoy as much as the London Lyceum. I greatly appreciate the charitable disposition of the hosts towards their guests, and the weight of the subject matter that they tackle in each episode. I come away from every episode having learned something new. Simply put, this is the best podcast out there for serious Christian thinking from a confessional Baptist perspective. I highly recommend!

  • Avoid these guys - they are playing word games

I’m a new listener and was initially encouraged, but they’ve gone far afield in their latest episode. They seem to not know what they are talking about and are confused on basic definitions. Allowing these Arminians on and giving them a platform to confuse people on definitions. Apparently, every historian was wrong about Ariminus. These guys are not serious confessional baptists.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Honesty Crisis with Christian Miller
Q: How has AI impacted honesty in education and what can professors do about it?
AI creates temptations to use external content; professors should set clear allowances, lower assignment stakes, and enforce honoring codes, while acknowledging that no perfect detector exists and that responsible use with citation is essential.
The Honesty Crisis with Christian Miller
Q: What is honesty in Miller's framework beyond simply not lying?
Honesty includes not cheating or stealing, not engaging in self-deception, and behaving consistently across time and situations, with motivations aligned to the right reasons rather than self-serving goals.
The Culture of God's Word with Lucas Woodford
Q: Who should read this book, and where can people find more of your work?
The book is intended for pastors and laypeople across confessional denominations, with resources available through Hal Sinkbile's and the author's Amazon pages; the companion book The Care of Souls influenced it, and the authors aim for broad practical use.
The Culture of God's Word with Lucas Woodford
Q: What exactly is contextualization, and why have pastors been exhausted by it compared to a common-sense contextualization?
The guests explain that contextualization has a place, but it should not chase every cultural fad; instead, pastors should use common sense, speak the language of their culture, and anchor outreach in the text of Scripture (Acts is used as a guide).
The Culture of God's Word with Lucas Woodford
Q: Just introduce me a little bit to yourself and then what was it that sort of encouraged you to write this book?
Lucas describes his role as a pastor in the LCMS, his partnership with Hal Sinkbile, and how their long-running discussions over years led to the creation of a book that centers on the Bible's authority and the need for a measured, gospel-centered approach to culture.
