  • Catholic mom trying to be crunchy

Eve’s episodes have given me so much peace and joy when I think about birth. I have had two births and I’m currently prepping for my third. I am trying to go the more holistic route and Eve providing a Catholic guide helps me tremendously as I navigate this time!

  • So thankful!

I am not Catholic, but as a Christian, felt a deep desire to really surrender and prepare for an unmedicated birth for our third baby after having two positive medicated deliveries previously. Eve’s resources were so helpful and encouraging. I’m very thankful for the content she has produced and her heart behind it, and truly feel it helped shape my mindset going into birth this time. I’m so grateful to have experienced the unmedicated birth I desired!

  • I love Eve!

I love this podcast! I’m 1 year postpartum and ready for Baby #2, but so scared since I still have birth trauma. This podcast has been so helpful in helping me feel better about future births. Eve has helped me feel mentally prepared. I love that there is a Catholic birth course and podcast out there. Since my first birth was a C-section due to breech presentation, I really appreciate Eve’s episode with Dr. Stu.

  • Crunchy New Catholic

I’m so glad I found this podcast! I had a home birth with my first baby and that was at the same time I was going through the process of becoming Catholic. I love being Catholic, but I feel out of place when I talk to other moms about things like home birth, placenta encapsulation, declining interventions, etc. because they look at me like I’m crazy. We agree on bring pro-life and pro-baby but we’re not on the same page about the birth model. So I’m grateful to have found a podcast that combines... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Everything You NEED To Know About Gestational Diabetes (w/ Lily Nichols, RD) | Ep. 77
Q: What should women who are diagnosed with GDM know about birth plans and potential interventions?
Many women can maintain a low-intervention birth if their blood sugar is well controlled through diet and lifestyle. Medication or insulin is sometimes necessary, but the goal is to manage glucose with the lowest effective intervention, while also advocating for birth settings and providers that support their preferences, including home or birth center options when safely possible.
Everything You NEED To Know About Gestational Diabetes (w/ Lily Nichols, RD) | Ep. 77
Q: Why do conventional dietary guidelines seem misaligned for many patients, and how should they be adjusted?
The traditional high-carbohydrate, low-fat approach often exceeds individual carbohydrate tolerance, especially in pregnancy. A more effective strategy is to tailor carbohydrate intake to each person's tolerance, prioritize protein and healthy fats, and use real-time blood sugar data to fine-tune meal portions rather than rigidly following generic guidelines.
Everything You NEED To Know About Gestational Diabetes (w/ Lily Nichols, RD) | Ep. 77
Q: What is gestational diabetes and how does it happen physiologically?
Gestational diabetes is higher than normal blood sugar during pregnancy. It can arise from pre-existing insulin resistance, or as a pregnancy-induced state where insulin demand outpaces production. The condition varies in severity and is often diet-and-lifestyle manageable, though some cases require medication depending on underlying insulin dynamics and adherence to dietary plans.
A Catholic Mom's Guide to Spiritually Preparing for Birth (with Mary Haseltine) | Ep. 65 (REPLAY)
Q: What advice would you give to Catholic women preparing for birth who are struggling with feelings of fear and doubt?
Recognize that feeling nervous is natural. It's important to use prayer as a tool, seek supportive people, and fill your heart with encouraging stories.
You Are Made Good! God’s Design for Nourishment, Motherhood, and Healing (with Flo from The Catholic Nutritionist) | Ep. 51
Q: How can women start to reframe their idea of nutrition away from rigid rules?
Begin with an honest self-reflection about your relationship with food and seek to view nourishment as an act of stewardship and worship.
