Theo Hayez is missing in Byron Bay, a beautiful beachside town on Australia’s most easterly mainland point, frequently in the spotlight for its famous residents. Theo's from Brussels. He's 18 and on a backpacking holiday when he vanishes in May 2019. Theo left a local bar around 11pm. As the search narrows to the area around the 118-year-old Cape Byron Lighthouse, a range of theories emerge. From the newspaper that brought you The Teacher's Pet and Who The Hell is Hamish, The Lighthouse investigates all possible scenarios as it takes you inside an extraordinary search. • Valuable podcast

My first ever podcast. I still relisten to the episodes every so often. David Murray remains my favourite podcaster. I really hope 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 he does another follow up episode on the findings and where to from here. Questions I’m sure many would like to hear more on… Is there any hope of any evidence surfacing in any form / any new leads…any surprising developments etc David Murray’s style is very easy on the ear…..

  • Intriguing and well told

Such an intriguing case and excellent podcast. Investigative but balanced. I’m actually quite obsessed with this case now and really want to find out what happened. This podcast definitely sheds more light on the circumstances of his disappearance than what police have offered thus far. I hope this podcast it continues at some stage!

  • Unfinished..

Theo is still out there… I doubt through his own misadventure. Someone was with him, or someone met him, either way he’s still missing and we can’t always blame a shark… sometimes there’s vultures that walk as humans… it’s been 3 years and his family has no answer. more

  • Overall an interesting story with a great focus on modern tracking technologies. A sad story of a backpacking tourist who may have fallen into the ocean while drunk of high, but may have met foul play.
