  • Great podcast!

The information in this podcast is amazing, but my one critique is the volume. I can’t hear very well on my highest volume while mowing, which is my podcast time. I know, “you’re running a mower!” But I can hear most podcast just fine. Thanks for taking the time to get this info out there!

How to Make Blue Collar Work Sexy Again (Modern Playbook)
Q: What practical steps can owners take to start making their trades more attractive?
Start with a crawl-walk-run approach to personal development, implement a book club, run quarterly workshops, invest in photos and branding, and create a simple, transparent performance-pay system that rewards team success before individual gains.
How to Make Blue Collar Work Sexy Again (Modern Playbook)
Q: Why is branding so important for attracting the next generation of workers?
Branding signals that a company cares about its people and its future, which helps attract talent who want belonging and purpose. A strong, people-facing brand can improve pride, retention, and performance by linking identity to culture and development.
How to Make Blue Collar Work Sexy Again (Modern Playbook)
Q: How do you think the blue-collar world is perceived as a career option today?
Mika explains that blue-collar work is often seen as a dead-end path, with many seeing entrepreneurship or formal education as the only routes; the industry is undervalued due to branding and misperceptions, and there is a need to present a meaningful long-term path with community and purpose.
Turn Strategy Into Something Your Whole Crew Gets
Q: What exactly do you mean by the 'base layer' of strategy and why is it foundational?
The base layer defines who you serve and where you operate, along with the organization's culture and identity. Without clear positioning and a coherent culture, you can't build a strategy that actually guides behavior or delivers on goals.
Stop Winging Your Sales Calls | Landscaping Sales Scripts
Q: What do you see as the biggest misunderstanding about how decisions are made in landscaping sales?
Most salespeople underestimate how language patterns slow or accelerate decisions; if you don't engineer the language, you risk leaving money on the table or losing the business entirely.
