  • Highly educational and nurturing

Dr. Laura really knows her stuff. She’s a wealth of knowledge and full of resources on where to go to get help if she doesn’t have the answer which she often does. My wife and I learned so much every episode. We listen to. thank you, Dr. Laura for bringing a sense of normal to sex and intimacy in relationships.

  • Trying to keep up with couples

I’m to continue listening to the Canon Marla episodes, but I’m having a problem navigating through your podcast. I don’t know if there’s a season or a week to pay attention to more. I enjoy listening to podcasts that have stories behind them and I enjoyed their story as it affected my life as well the same as theirs, but I’m not able to find, anything that has changed and keep up with them

  • Terrible, absolutely awful

The host used to be informative, but the podcast now is simply awful. There’s no useful information provided, but rather bunch of cryptic garbage thrown at listeners. The host should at least try to put in some effort in putting together the content, but all she provides is bunch of nonsense. Stay away from this one, don’t waste your time. There are better options out there than this trash.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rewilding: The Courage to Become Yourself Again
Q: How did discovering and expressing your sexuality fit into the rewilding process?
Exploring sexuality openly helped dissolve shame, revealing a more fluid identity. Speaking openly about it reduced fear and helped integrate this aspect of self into a broader sense of authenticity.
Rewilding: The Courage to Become Yourself Again
Q: What role do friendships play in this journey of rewilding?
Friendships act as a barometer and support system; choosing the right tribe is crucial, and letting go of unhealthy or inauthentic connections allows healthier, more secure relationships to form.
Rewilding: The Courage to Become Yourself Again
Q: How did somatic healing compare to talk therapy in your experience?
Somatic therapy helped me locate and feel deeply buried wounds in my body, allowing me to trust my intuition and stop overthinking. It offered a slower, embodied form of healing that talk therapy alone could not achieve.
Rewilding: The Courage to Become Yourself Again
Q: What does it mean to rewild yourself, and why is it relevant for people who feel they have lost themselves in life?
Rewilding is about reclaiming the truest self by shedding persona, expectations, and roles that were adopted to be loved or to fit an image. It involves facing pain, embracing boundary-setting, and rebuilding life from a more authentic place, often catalyzed by menopause or major life shifts.
She’s Not Pulling Away, She’s in Perimenooause
Q: She says, I think I'm in perimenopause and it is messing with everything, sleep, mood, anxiety, libido. What should couples know about this transition so the relationship doesn't become collateral damage and how do you advocate for your needs without feeling broken?
Dr. Berman emphasizes normalizing the experience, encourages seeking medical evaluation (especially hormonal assessment and appropriate therapy), explains how hormone levels affect mood and sex drive, and advises open communication with partners to prevent misunderstanding and resentment. She outlines practical steps: educate the partner, consider hormone-supportive treatments like progesterone, and pursue medical guidance before changing birth control or starting new regimens, while validating that the person is not broken.
