  • Highly educational and nurturing

Dr. Laura really knows her stuff. She’s a wealth of knowledge and full of resources on where to go to get help if she doesn’t have the answer which she often does. My wife and I learned so much every episode. We listen to. thank you, Dr. Laura for bringing a sense of normal to sex and intimacy in relationships.

  • Trying to keep up with couples

I’m to continue listening to the Canon Marla episodes, but I’m having a problem navigating through your podcast. I don’t know if there’s a season or a week to pay attention to more. I enjoy listening to podcasts that have stories behind them and I enjoyed their story as it affected my life as well the same as theirs, but I’m not able to find, anything that has changed and keep up with them

  • Terrible, absolutely awful

The host used to be informative, but the podcast now is simply awful. There’s no useful information provided, but rather bunch of cryptic garbage thrown at listeners. The host should at least try to put in some effort in putting together the content, but all she provides is bunch of nonsense. Stay away from this one, don’t waste your time. There are better options out there than this trash.

When One of You Shuts Down and the Other Feels Rejected
Q: I don't want to be dismissive, but I'm overwhelmed. How do you explain shutdown to a partner in a way that they can understand? And what agreements can you create so both people feel safe and heard?
Dr. Laura explains that shutdown is often a trauma reaction triggered by conflict, rooted in earlier experiences of abandonment. She recommends discussing it when calm, acknowledging it as your own trauma rather than the partner's fault, and establishing agreements such as recognizing when one is triggered, using grounding strategies, and implementing safe words or cues to signal when space is needed. She also suggests grounding exercises, coming back to the conversation after the nervous system settles, and involving the partner in the process to help re-establish safety and connection.
What To Do When You Know Something Needs to Change (But Don’t Exactly Know What or How)
Q: What is the Firestarter formula and how can listeners apply it in their lives?
The Firestarter formula rests on three elements—values, abilities, and desires—and Watts explains how identifying and aligning these elements through practice and community support helps start and sustain meaningful fires in life, whether small or large.
What To Do When You Know Something Needs to Change (But Don’t Exactly Know What or How)
Q: What sparked Shannon Watts to start Moms Demand Action?
Watts discusses a combination of personal crisis, anger at a tragedy, and a realization that she could influence change by mobilizing others, turning fear into collective action through social media and organized activism.
When You Keep Fighting About The Same Thing
Q: What should be said, what should be done, and how long it should take for real repair in a relationship?
It's about changing behavior, taking responsibility, and understanding underlying emotional triggers.
When You’re Lonely in a “Good” Relationship
Q: How do you communicate I need to be known and cherished without it turning into an argument about chores and who's doing more?
Berman suggests that open communication about feelings of being overwhelmed and specific requests for support can help avoid misunderstandings.
