  • Local man yells at clouds

I found Randy’s podcast while searching for content about SB 79. I was hoping — especially since it has KABC branding — to find a reasoned overview of SB 79 and what the pros and cons of the legislation would be. What I found instead was a snobby and privileged local home owner who doesn’t understand why people would live in apartments, is afraid of tall buildings, and laments that California doesn’t build starter homes in big cities anymore.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Is LAUSD heading for another strike?
Q: What can the legislature do to make people's lives a little easier when it comes to the cost of living in California?
We could start cutting back on gas taxes. They raise it every six months on us, and we just were overtaxed.
Is LAUSD heading for another strike?
Q: If you make it to the assembly, will you be pushing to get Prop 36 fully funded?
Absolutely. We need to. Gavin Newsom is the one that shut that down and said we didn't have the money to fund Prop 36.
Is LAUSD heading for another strike?
Q: If you were in the assembly, what would you do to either change your insurance laws or hold the insurance companies accountable to be paying their end of the contract?
I would hold them accountable. They need to pay this out and we need to streamline and get rid of all the red tape as far as bureaucrats and environmentalists in California.
Valley Glen neighbors buy their own FLOCK Cameras and LA isn't happy about it
Q: How would you tackle the problem of illegal dumping?
Dylan Kendall mentions that the city has been unfriendly to businesses, affecting budget and staffing, leading to delays in addressing illegal dumping through 311 complaints. She advocates for empowering constituents to care about their community.
Valley Glen neighbors buy their own FLOCK Cameras and LA isn't happy about it
Q: If you were a member of the city council, what would you do to crack down on copper wire theft?
Dylan Kendall emphasizes the need for multiple strategies, including rewarding informants to provide information about theft, enforcing stronger measures against suppliers, and installing solar streetlights to prevent such crimes.
