  • Absolutely determinative quite frankly

John and Randy are the best, not a joke. We aren’t talking about no wobbly knees allies. These guys are the real deal. Period. Full stop. Huh. Eh. Huh. Absolutely absolutely one of the best shows to listen to. They’re so hot they could melt a basketball court. They’re so smart they know is the cashier is dummy. John’s a fan of pippy long stocking Madonna or something and Randy loves Santa Fe and wine. The best 3 hours of the day followed by Randy’s show at 5. Day one listener from the Randy wang... more

  • Spot on!

John and Randy keep us informed on California news and politics. They bring in great guest speakers that share their knowledge of their particular experiences and expertise. John keeps us laughing at the right times and serious at the right times. I find myself laughing in my car and much more in tune with the daily news of today.

This is the only way to listen to johns show. I used to listen to the lve broadcast however the show seems better as a podcast as the host seems to be on vacation more then he is on air. His cohost randy is a great in his own way but his role as #2 makes the show great and not so good when he is solo. Basically when john is there i listen. When he isnt i go “on vacation” too.

I love John’s humor and lightness, even when discussing serious issues. Very informative about state and local issues, especially digging into corruption. Ads are intrusive and badly placed, but that’s the way it goes

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Roxanne Hoge recaps the California GOP Convention
Q: Now, with Eric Swalwell out of the race, who do you think benefits the most from his absence?
Katie Porter and Tom Steyer are expected to gain in the short term, with potential shifts as new information and videos emerge; the dynamic could lead to a reshuffling of supporters and endorsements.
The State of the Governor's Race after Swalwell Dropped Out
Q: Why do you think Steve Hilton has gained attention in the Republican primary scene?
The hosts attribute some of Hilton's traction to endorsements and media narratives, while also noting that other contenders like Chad Bianco are competing for the same base, with debates on conservative versus big-government approaches.
The State of the Governor's Race after Swalwell Dropped Out
Q: What advice would you give to Democratic voters who want a serious person to tackle California's problems?
The guest and host suggest that finding a candidate with credibility and willingness to tackle difficult reform is essential; the host notes that in California, political realities make it hard for any single candidate to satisfy all expectations, so voters may look for the most credible, policy-driven option rather than purity.
Jon Coupal on the State of the Governor's Race
Q: Where do you think addressing fraud could fit into a campaign strategy?
Fraud is a visceral issue for voters; a candidate who foregrounds fixing fraud and waste could tap into strong public sentiment and differentiate themselves.
Jon Coupal on the State of the Governor's Race
Q: How do you see the top-two primary impacting the governor's race and potential recall dynamics?
The top-two system creates a chaotic, unpredictable path to November and could sustain a recall scenario even if the leading candidate isn't the strongest with voters.
