  • Absolutely determinative quite frankly

John and Randy are the best, not a joke. We aren’t talking about no wobbly knees allies. These guys are the real deal. Period. Full stop. Huh. Eh. Huh. Absolutely absolutely one of the best shows to listen to. They’re so hot they could melt a basketball court. They’re so smart they know is the cashier is dummy. John’s a fan of pippy long stocking Madonna or something and Randy loves Santa Fe and wine. The best 3 hours of the day followed by Randy’s show at 5. Day one listener from the Randy wang... more

  • Spot on!

John and Randy keep us informed on California news and politics. They bring in great guest speakers that share their knowledge of their particular experiences and expertise. John keeps us laughing at the right times and serious at the right times. I find myself laughing in my car and much more in tune with the daily news of today.

This is the only way to listen to johns show. I used to listen to the lve broadcast however the show seems better as a podcast as the host seems to be on vacation more then he is on air. His cohost randy is a great in his own way but his role as #2 makes the show great and not so good when he is solo. Basically when john is there i listen. When he isnt i go “on vacation” too.

I love John’s humor and lightness, even when discussing serious issues. Very informative about state and local issues, especially digging into corruption. Ads are intrusive and badly placed, but that’s the way it goes

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Mike Netter on the lack of response to the Tijuana River Valley Disaster
Q: How do you view the role of ballot initiative signatures and potential fraud in California politics?
I think there needs to be stricter verification and enforcement around petitions, with stronger penalties for violations and independent auditing to ensure signatures reflect legitimate voters, thereby protecting the integrity of the process.
Mike Netter on the lack of response to the Tijuana River Valley Disaster
Q: What concrete steps would you take to address the Tijuana River pollution crisis as a state senator?
I would establish a one-stop state commission to coordinate across agencies, designate a 24/7 hotline for residents, secure funding for immediate cleanup efforts, and push for cross-border collaboration to address long-term infrastructure and environmental fixes.
Royal Oakes and Seneca Scott
Q: What are the legal implications for Swalwell given the allegations and ethics concerns?
The host and guest agree that while political damage is likely, the legal exposure may be limited; investigations could harm his political future more than lead to conviction, depending on whether any official misconduct is proven.
Susan Crabtree on the state of the Governor's Race
Q: What does the polling suggest about the gubernatorial race and potential coalescing behind a candidate?
Polls indicate a crowded field with skepticism about the traditional Democratic front-runner, and there appears to be pressure within the party to rally behind a single candidate, possibly Eric Swalwell, aided by endorsements from strong labor groups.
California is letting out yet another monster on Elder Parole
Q: What changes are being proposed to the elder parole policy?
Proposed changes include raising the eligibility age, increasing the minimum time served, and adding mandatory state hospital screenings, with advocates arguing for stronger safeguards and exclusions for severe offenses.
