  • Job Search BLUEPRINT

I passionately recommend this podcast. Every episode contains a couple of nuggets of gold. In particular, episodes describing specifically how to answer interview questions by putting the employer’s needs at the center of the answer were immensely useful. I listened over and over, and crafted my answers for subsequent interviews based on absorbing the examples in Matthew’s podcasts. Not only did I land the job I was seeking, but I travelled pretty far down the path on two other opportunities... more

  • Great podcast.

I started listening to this last night and ended up going through five or six episodes in a row. There’s genuinely useful guidance here for people at every stage of their career.

For those just starting out, there are practical, precise tips on everything from showing up on time for in-person interviews to avoiding the unexpected issues that can derail video interviews.

For people farther along in their careers, there’s an incredible interview with a career coach who works with billionaires an... more

  • Level Up Everywhere

Not only is this podcast phenomenal for job seekers, it’s great for any business minded individual. Do yourself a favor, listen to it, take notes, and follow the advice. I’ve noticed myself shifting the way I think about daily work, plus it’s made me pause and ponder how and why I am applying for the next career pivot for myself. While the short episodes are good, my favorites are the guests for many perspectives on hiring. I have been sharing this podcast with all my coworkers and friends who a... more

  • Reminded

I returned to Matthew’s podcast today at exactly the right time. I’m currently in transition, and like most people in that position, it’s easy to spend every waking hour focused on your own next step.

What I was reminded of is that sometimes the fastest way to refill your own tank is to turn your attention outward. Listening to Matthew, and hearing his continued investment in people who are navigating change, gave me more than I expected. It gave me perspective, encouragement, and the lift I ne... more

  • Changed My Life!

This review is long overdue. I religiously listened to this podcast while interviewing for jobs almost two years ago (I said overdue didn’t I?!). There was one shorter episode where Matthew ensures the listener “You’ve got this! You’ve put in the work and it’s your time” meant to encourage confidence and pump you up before an interview and I’m telling y’all I probably listened to that episode 20 times before various interviews and interview stages. It WORKED! I had done the prep work, I practice... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Kelli Thompson - 5 Salary Negotiation Myths That Are Costing You Thousands
Q: What are the top myths about salary negotiation that people should ignore?
Key myths include that it's rude to ask about salary, that you should never discuss money early in the process, and that the offer you get must be accepted or you lose leverage. The host and guest emphasize discussing market rates, presenting your value, and negotiating within market ranges rather than fixating on a single number or personal circumstances.
Claudia Miller - Resume Branding, Negotiating Salary & Securing Dream Jobs
Q: What steps should someone take after securing a new job to ensure they continue to advance and get noticed for promotions?
Create a 90-day plan to learn the role, document projects and outcomes, seek higher-impact assignments, and start networking with people one level above to build the path toward the next promotion.
Claudia Miller - Resume Branding, Negotiating Salary & Securing Dream Jobs
Q: Can you give us a crash course on salary negotiation and what listeners should prepare before entering that discussion?
The crash course emphasizes having a planned number, presenting market-based context, and exploring creative compensation options (base, signing bonuses, stock) to close the gap in a collaborative way, rather than demanding a number.
Claudia Miller - Resume Branding, Negotiating Salary & Securing Dream Jobs
Q: What are common stumbling points for professionals you work with, and how do you address them in a client's branding and interviews?
Common issues include over-generalized resumes and self-talk about being stuck or unqualified; Claudia helps clients brand themselves with concrete, measurable capabilities and strategies to present themselves as high-value candidates, leading to more interviews and offers.
Lou Adler - ”The Most Important Interview Question of All Time!”
Q: What advice can you send us off with for job seekers?
Job seekers need to prepare stories of their major accomplishments that relate directly to the job to effectively demonstrate their qualifications.
